Limit in wages from board ...

Why does the board give me a limit to how much I'm allowed to offer in a contract to someone? I think it should be like in TCM2003 ... I'm the president, the board, the manager, the coach and the utility guy hehehe

I'm maniging Barcelona and every Barça fan wants to see Ronald Koeman in the club, wether he is a simple coach or scout. But I want him for the Assitant Manager position ... just for the hell of it and for good old time sakes ... anyhow, Koeman wants 1,2 mill Euro but the board will limit this particular postion to 0.5 mill. Why oh why do they interfear?

The same goes trying to get some players. The board limits how much I can offer a certain player, whether he is a Key player or not. If Raúl wants 6 mill Euros, and everyone knows that Raúl is one hellk of a signing, why doesn't the board let me offer him more money? I've sold pratically every player in Barcelona to get new ones so I've got a lot a cash ... still the board bothers me. Why?

No. Managers don't handle finances. That's the chairmans job. Go and seek USM98 and TCM03 if you want more interaction with the financial side. CM is aimed towards realism, and managers don't handle finances, so CM reflects this.

Yeah but how real is the game when the board wont let me sign someone like Raúl? He is one of the best players in CM4. The board also gave some problems when I wanted to sign Vieri or Del Piero, also 2 of the best forwards in the game, just because the board gave me a ridiculous wage limit. How real is this? If I have the money to buy these players how come the board can't se the quality fo the players? Another thing that ain't close of being real ... the tactic in real life that Real MAdrid have been using these past years is that as long as the players is a commercial succes such as Zidane and Ronaldo, who cares about their wage? The board should really see that then don't you think?

Not really. You are giving a transfer budget and a wage bill per annum. You build your squad around that. The message is clear. You want to spend big, then you will have to sell big. Build your team around your finances.

I think you should be able to appeal to and negotiate with the board regarding issues such as this, but maybe that would be to hard to instrument.

I agree about that. You should be able to appeal on players with bigger reputation worldwide. However, it's another feature added to the game which means a higher spec and so on.

Maybe that is why they removed the features that were supposed to be in the game like...hmmm, Ultimatums and internationa instructions.

LoL. Of course. However, the guy who made it, produced it with an unregistered version that says something about distribution of his work breaks a law and he can have his arse sued for it. I am guessing it is a warez version he made it with.
