Oh, man, it's almost nonsense in portuguese!

I am brazilian, I speak portuguese.

If you use a translator like ALtavista, the result is a lame, specially for portuguese.

It's worst than my english :-)

yeah i knew it would be really bad, cos ive heard how bad the translators are.:)
hey infesta isnt the translation closer to this?
"Leeds United team of the club of the worlds is more better! haha i just wanted to test the thing of Altavista Babelfish. Thus some of you guys knows the real Portuguese, portuguêses right Americans south nao? "
i just whacked it back in and reversed the translator, and thats waht it said..:) maybe i should have learnt my lesson on these translators in the first place!!
its pretty similar to waht you said anyway..:)
Anyway isnt brazilian portuguese different to Portugal Portuguese?

Yeah, brazilian portuguese and portuguese from Portugal are a bit different, but the the sintax is the same, i think.

Do you know they speak portuguese in Angola?
There are others countries where the official language is the portuguese, but I don't remember.

Well, this is off topic :-)

Nossa mas como o translator do altavista é ruim ein! Agora esse gringo precisa de algumas aulinhas de português pois nem concordância verbal ele sabe...
Com certeza ele irá tentar traduzir isto he! he!

Hey boy keep trying! Portuguese is not the most difficult language to learn (am i wrong???). The portuguese from Portugal, Macau, Angola, etc is not the same from Brazil the way we talk and something in the grammar makes the difference.

So u agree with me that the altavista translator sucks(i understood that part of the translation).
And you were right, i did go to try and translate what u said! and got most of it, but missed a bit in the middle!
How is this?
assim você concorda esse altavista é mau (eu compreendi aquele parte da tradução).
E você eram direito, eu fui para tentar e traduzir o que você disse! e eu compreendi a maioria dele, mas faltado algum no médio!

Is that better then before? I hope it is, cos i tried to do some myself as well as using ALtavista its supposed to say what i said above it.
Cheers

well, as far as I know, Portuguese from Portugal is harder than brazilian portuguese (at least for us the spanish speakers), brazilian portuguese is pretty close to spanish :D, so it's easy for me.

Hey sKIp_E, I've been studying portuguese for like three months now, so if you want I could give you some websites to go and learn (all of them except one are on english):

http://www.geocities.com/Eureka/Executive/2731/ <-- this site is grat with sounds and more :)

http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/Foothills/6095/portuguese_online.htm <-- this WAS a great site, but I dunno what happened :(, they had great sounds but at least the lessons are still there

http://www.portuguesonline.com/ <-- this site ROCKS if you speak portuguese or spanish, with a lot of info, like visas etc (it's a brazilian site).

and last but not least: http://alfarrabio.um.geira.pt/spl/ <-- man, this one is the BEST, if you speak spanish, or at least you know how to pronounce it this site will help you a lot!!!!, with conversion from spanish to portuguese (quiero > quero, hierro > ferro, hormiga > formiga, etc...).

I hope those sites help you like they help me learn my portuguese, heheh, but eu falo mais portunhol que nada :P

THe Portuguese from Portugal is almost identical to the Brazilian except for the "sayings" and that. Anyways you can understand everything no problem and i don't see why Spanish speakers could understand Brazilian style easier. Not bad Skip E on the second post its very good.

because portuguese from brazil is less "rough" than portuguese from Portugal, if you watch a movie in brazilian portuguese you will understand it more than one from portugal (try to watch O Clone and you will understand it, try to watch one of the programs at RTPi [www.jumptv.com] and you will see what I mean).

anyways, it's not a bad thing, but I think brazilian portuguese it's easier because it has many influences from spanish-speaking countries.
