Let Me Choose Which Joypad Buttons I want for PC Gamers

Hey EA

Listen Up

Every year I end up ripping about the config file for my joypad. For Fifa 2k5 and CL2005 I ended up getting a file from FIFA 2004!

You wanna add a feature?

Hows about the USER having the ability to program which buttons do what!!!!!

After all on one controller (say like a standard ps2 controller) Control Panel/ Game Controllers/ My Pad/ Joypad button 6 equals the right shoulder button, which is perfect for sprint. But on my my Wingman Cordless Rumblepad for example that shoulder button happens to be Windows button 8, which make its really damned awkward to implement sprint without either a)growing an extra finger or b)hacking the files about.

There are countless joypads each with different button numbering methods as no standard really exists.

I think if you have a look at the way Konami have implemented complete user configurable button set up for PES/WE , you would be on a very worthwhile path indeed.

What say everyone else?? Has anyone heard if EA are going to do anything about this. Its been the same lousy problem for years.

Cheers

i completly agree...until now gamepads/joysitcks are all hard coded, i have a saitek P2500 and i had to change the OEM Name in the registry so i can map the buttons the way i wanted and even then the right stick doesnt work as it should while on PES4 the gamepad works perfectly...

please fix this! :bouncy:

As far as I'm concerned, we could change buttons in FIFA 2005, and we will be able to do the same in FIFA 06. Anyway, it would be great if any gamepad is supported, because in FIFA 2005 there was a small list...
