Right, I have been planning to do this for about a year. No, i have finally decided to do it. Me, knowing **** all about guitars would like ur help :D. First of all, what guitar (Fender etc.) would be best to start with. If there are any sites which sell nice, cheap electrice guitars could you's please post it. Basically anything to do with equipment which could get me started would be a nice help. Thanx

Well, I have a really **** Toyama (Not Yamaha) electrical guitar, which is pretty much crap.. like they make them look like famous guitars such as fender stratocaster or the ibanez ones. But itz pretty crap, and my amp is soo damn crappy it sounds like ****. so I mostly just play my acoustic.

Well, my friend has an ibanez (rich bitch :kader: ) and it both looks and plays awesome..

but too bad I am **** at guitars and pretty much anything that has to do with music. Freaking trumpet glad I dun need to take it anymore

I'm looking for a decent Telecaster. It'll cosy me around £300, like. As a student, I just don't have that kind of cash.

All you really need to start is a fairly cheap electric guitar, I got mine for around £120 in 1994, an amplifier and a lead. Before I got my amp I bought one of those portable things that you put headphones in (it was about £5 I think), it did the job while I waited for christmas to get an amplifier.

You can feel the difference between playing on a better guitar than the cheaper ones, as you gain experience. But when you're starting out it makes little difference at all, other than the quality of the sound.

My favorite are the Les Pauls, but here I found the Ibanez GAX30 for only $150. It's a good guitar. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7...28395/g=guitar/search/detail/base_pid/519725/

I found myself falling in love the look, sound and feel of Les Pauls as well, even though I still play a Squier Strat. Les Paul's are awesome, however as a beginner's guitar I think even the Epiphone versions are still quite expensive. Another disadvantage is that they are heavy. If you're just starting go to a shop and ask if they have a beginners set. I know Squier (Fender) and Ibanez have these packages. It includes a guitar, small amp, picks and instruction video's. They're very affordable. But if you're not sure about playing guitar the cheapest option is to buy an acoustic. They're harder to play but won't cost you as much money as an electric.

Hmmmm..... GAX30 for under £90. Do they ship abroad? 'Cos the scripts on that site won't work on my PC.
