LB & RB Fatigue

Is there anyway to keep the LB and RB from constantly running up and down the flanks all game? They are becoming extremely fatigued/knackered in every game. I pretty much have to sub both of them out at halftime! Any suggestions oh mighty ones?

Yeah I would like to know that also as my old friends Cafu and Maldini's tongues are already sticking out at half time and by the end of the match they need oxygen masks.

I have noticed that they like to run upfield quite a lot. On my Xbox version I can hold L1 and then a directional button to play various defensive strategies. One of them being a flat back four, I haven't tried it but it is a suggestion. Might stop them running the full length of the pitch.

i just think they shouldnt get that easily fatigued... because in REAL life (which this game is trying to simulate) they do run up.. but else it could be cool to make it more like TCM or maybe even like CM/football manager, according to the tactics in the game.. (so you ie could keep your backs, back!)

Hello
i think some tweking is possible. Here is a cut of AI.ini in config.dat.
As you see there are two "limiters"
I will do some test..
Cheers

// Positioning support attack related

MAX_DEFENDER_ANGLE_FOR_SPACE_INFO = 100 //When we construct free sapces for space run, we exclude defenders whose angle from the dribbler is bigger than this. In degree
MAX_DEF_DIST_FOR_SPACE_INFO = 8 //If the defender is further than this distance from the last defender, we exclude the defender for the sapce. In yards

FWIW I don't think the problem lies with the players making runs but with the implementation of fatigue in FIFA 07. I've switched some of the INI file parameters back to their FIFA 06 values, but that hasn't made as much difference as I'd like (midfielders rarely manage more than one game a week before dropping into the red, and then take two weeks or more to return to the green). It looks as if the way that fatigue is calculated, relative to what happens on the field, has been fundamentally changed, and playing with a lower division team (Wycombe in the bottom English division) it is almost impossible to field a fit eleven.

Ideally I would like for my wing backs to be able to play a box-to-box style, but, like we have pointed out here, they become too fatigued to do this for the entire game. What would be nice is if they would stay at about the center field line unless called upon by selecting a certain defensive strategy or something (i.e. with a L1 + D-Pad play call). Then they would not be running up and down the sidelines all day long.

Ya the new fatigue seems to be pretty intensive as compared to the past. Come to think of it, this did not happen with the wing backs in 06. My midfielders always got knackered in 06, but rarely did any backs become fatigued. Now, in 05 I remember having to deal with knackered wing backs a LOT and it obviously seems to be back in 07. As a matter of fact, 07 seems to have a mix of both fatigue factors (at least the affect on players) because now I have tired wing backs AND tired midfielders by the end of almost every game I play.

What if you use a formation with 5 midfielders? Would the wing backs still go up and down the flanks?
