Just watched my 2 sons win the Konami Cup, just the same as last years. Get the cup and up goes the ticker tape, used to be was it PES3/4 you seen them getting there medals.

Onlt thing different, after all that , it cuts to a Blimp shot of the stadium, looks like your seeing it with the city lights all around it from very high up ..


You would have thought that would have tarted up the animations for winning the cup, instead of keeping the old one...

That's true but, then again, Konami usually don't use much of their resources on flashy graphics like EA do, which is what sets their games so distinctly apart. Konami always concentrates on gameplay and uses the same graphics, it seems, for as long as they possibly can. I'm perfectly okay with that, myself, being absolutely fascinated by the gameplay PES6 offers and not being a graphics-kinda-guy. Besides, most companies could squeeze a lot more out of their graphics engines before they revamp them and I think Konami tweak their graphics sufficiently from title to title.

That being said, it really doesn't seem like much work "directing" a new ceremony animation, or even a few different variations thereof. They do use the match graphics engine for the ceremonies, after all.

Im with you on the gameplay over graphic in general as in game and cut scences, but getting to a cup final and winning should I think get a very nice set of cuts scenes of your team. AS I said , I think it was pes3 or 4 that you seen them coming up one by one to get there medals, and last of all the captain to get his and the cup, now it just cut from a few runs and jumps about on the pitch to the team already with the cup.

Like you I would take gameplay over graphics as we have over serveral years with PES, but don't think end of season League Championship wins and cup wins would have taken that much out of Konami to do it , and it would not have any effect on the game play..
