Actually to be fair and neutral. It was the twat roma fans who started throwing flares and tossing c5 canisters of Tear and Smoke bombs on the field.

It was a protest put on by Roma fans because they were " disappointed" with how roma was playing and totti said " if we play on , they will kill us"

what the f&ck everyone left the field

this is so stupid

how can a second half be posponed

they are probably going to give a point to each team and end this but thats not good for Roma cause they need the full 3 points to stay in the title race

This is a black mark for football. I am watching this game as a soccer fan, not as a supporter of either team, and I see this happening. What a shame... I was expecting a great finish to this game.

So what now, are they going to replay the 45 minutes, or are they going to give the game to a one team (based on an investigation as to who started the clashes?).

Well from what the commentators were talking about, and what the police interview says is that it was a pocket of Roma fans just staging a protest.

just before the second half I turn the channel, 20 minutes later I change it back and I see players standing in the middle of the field

It had something to do with some kid being killed. At least that's what the GolTV announcers were saying

what the hell do you know, Roma fans didn't do nothing. They played a good first half.

Here is what I got from Eurosport

"The Rome derby has been suspended. Fans threw flares onto the pitch at half time in protest to the alleged killing of a child by a police van. A police statement vehemently denied the allegation. A league spokesman warned that if the match was not completed neither side would take any points from the game."

no one is defending anyone alright

just trying to find out what happened

the main point is that the police should not let anyone with flares or any kind of sh*t walk into the stadium

from eurosport - Rome derby suspended

The Rome derby has been suspended. Fans threw flares onto the pitch at half time in protest to the alleged killing of a child by a police van. A police statement vehemently denied the allegation. A league spokesman warned that if the match was not completed neither side would take any points from the game.

There were chaotic scenes just second into the second half as the game was stopped. Players, supporters' leaders, officials and the referee were invoved in heated arguments, before the decision was made to suspend the game.

from soccerage - Rome Derby Suspended

There were amazing scenes at the Stadio Olimpico as the Rome derby between Lazio and Roma was suspended after 46 minutes of play.

Roma fans began to throw flares onto the pitch, apparently because a young Giallorossi fan had been run over by a police van outside the ground.

After over 20 minutes of discussions, it was deemed that play should not continue.

The Italian FA have reportedly told both sides that they will not now collect any points from the fixture.

The game itself was 0-0 when play was stopped. The first chance of the game arrived on 11 minutes as Mancini's low shot was blocked by the feet of Angelo Peruzzi.

Lazio saw penalty appeals turned down at the other end as Mancini appeared to pull down Simone Inzaghi. Cesar was booked for his protests.

Bernardo Corradi missed a guilt-edged chance a minute later as he saw his close-range shot saved by Ivan Pelizzoli.

After Peruzzi had dealt comfortably with a Walter Samuel header, Stefano Fiore struck the post after some fine Lazio play down the right.

And just before half-time Francesco Totti really should have given Roma the lead but he too hit the bottom of the post after collecting a Mancini pass.

I totally support this protest, I mean come on, a kid got killed by a police van and they tried to deny it or play it down. That's just wrong

i totally agree with the suspension

they should pospone it for another date. It will be unfair not to give any points to eather team, specially Roma

Well, i support the fans for their protest. Didnt know a child was killed. And i though that the only place where the police is a mafia was in Brazil..
