I saw on a galatasaray homepage that after all turkish teams had won their uefa and championsleage qualification games. Turkey has now gone 7 places up the list and has settled on the 7 place!

I thought that the Cypriot FA ruled that if he wanted to play in Cyprus he had to play for Anorthosis but he wanted to go to Apoel.
Apoel also signed Shimitras and Obiku so they're looking awesome. They qualified for the UEFA Cup.

For the Greeks:
I can't dig up posts that have been deleted. But in the past we would be discussing two different national teams in Europe, and out of nowhere, someone would blurt out something to the likes of "beware of Greece !" or "Greece's world class keeper is the best in Europe" and comments like that. I'm not trying to insult anyone, but if you truly want your team to be 'intimidating' or be respected, let results do that for you.
I cannot say that if I was a footballer from a top footballing nation, I would fear a country that hasn't made it to the World Cup recently. I think when Greece proves their strength in qualifiers, and their club teams show themselves to be strong and powerful against their European counterparts, then you can say that Greece truly has risen to become a top footballing nation.

I think the Romanian league should be up there. I mean who have a lot of competion. There are teams like Steaua, Dinamo, Rapid, Arges, etc... who always battle for the title. Dinamo-Steaua is one of the biggest derbys in my opinion. Last year, the supporters set fire to the stadium and were fighting on the streets.(sad!!!!) Well i think we should be placed around 12th place and not around 20th. agree?

Oh yeah, a "great" example -- "Dinamo". Dinamo finished 4-5th last year, and you even shouldn't come up with a team like that. Why don't you come up with Spartak Moscow -- who was in Cup Winners' Cup Semifinal in 1993, won ALL their Champions' League Group matches in 1995 (Blackburn -- English champions, Rossenborg -- Norwegian champions and Lagia Warsaw), then they got in UEFA Cup semifinal in 1998, beating Real Madrid 2:1 in 1999, and not qualifying out of group stage back then because of "group of death". Maybe last year Russian clubs sucked, but Spartak, for example are still considered "a higher" ranked club than, for example Arsenal.
In my country, money do not solve sh!t, in Western European countries, money solve everything. But when did you see a Scottish team in UEFA Cup semifinal these past 3 years? Saying we have quality players isn't exactly saying we are the best. And yes, Eleftheropoulos is '1' of the best GK's in Europe. 98' Was voted #1 GK in CL. And last year got some European award for best GK in Europe. and he's only 24....

You said it yourself Simonius. When we greeks. Obviously the Greeks mean Olympiakos Pireaus. I don't see many Greeks favouring the Cyprian teams over the Greek ones but I personally follow some Cyprian soccer and always hope they do well in there European games.
