Kramer vs Kramer - powerful, gripping and ultimately very uplifting. Streep and Hoffman at the top of their game. Difficult watching, especially for anyone who's been through their parents divorcing, but definitely worthy of the oscars it won and its "classic" status.

Last Days of Sophie Scholl - a bit disappointing, not up to the other great German war/conscience movies of recent years (Downfall, Lives of Others, Counterfeiters etc). The interrogations between Sophie and the Inspector, and late the judge, seemed stylalised and very unrealistic. Infact, for a "true story" the whole legal process of the movie seemed completely unbelievable when compared to what I think I know about nazi practices. Yet without these scenes there would have been nothing. Still quite powerful, the actors are good and the debates are interesting, but by no means a great movie.

The Bicycle Thieves - classic Italian movie which I cant believe I hadnt seen til now, a real masterpiece. Simple and delightful, yet a fantasticly deep portrait of post war Italian life and the hardship that surrounded it. A true masterpiece of Italian neorealism, up there with Rosselini and the Taviani brothers.

Annie Hall - first time I've ever seen this also, a really good film. Didnt think it was qutie in the same league as Manhatten, certainly in terms of artistic credibility, but very funny, very intelligent and also quite poingnant. I'm finally starting to see what all the Woody Allen fuss is about.

The last movie I watched was a cheap DVD my boyfriend bought from Circuit City - Beer League starring Artie Lang from the Howard Stern show. He's a Stern fan so he wanted to see this. This was an awful movie that seemed to have stolen jokes from other comedies. The cast was terrible. Probably one of the worst movies ever.

Good movie. Overrated, though. I'm not a big fan of back and forth between past and present, it seems if you don't pay full attention it's easy to get lost. This movie makes you think about how ****ed up India seems, but then again it shouldn't be anything to different from other big countries like that.

Also... what in the hell was up with the dancing at the end? Nearly ruined the movie. God damn Bollywood.

Great way to keep the audience glued to the screen till the last frame.:bouncy:

Was at home recently and caught up on two pretty funny/emotional films.

1. A Little Romance.....I don't knw how many of you have seen it but I have go to say that hardly any film has been able to portray Teenage love better than this gem of a film. George Hill is rightly thought out as the perfect entertainer. It has made me more sensitive towards my girlfriend as I am nearly the age of the protagonists. I can higly relate to it. Yes, LOL. If you guys have not seen it then I advice you guys to check it out.

Rating - 8.5/10.

2. Father of the Bride....This is perhaps how every father feels on the lead up to his daughters weeding. Really well enacted film, especially Steve Martin. He was amazing and IMO one of his better works. Check this out if you have not.

Rating - 7.7/10.

Check them out and you will not regret it.......

Cheers!!!

IMO, the movie would be more amazing to people if they had watched it prior to the Oscar hype.

"The word of mouth publicity" stage was the best time to see it. After that, it would always be overrated.

And yeah India can be a ****ed up place if you are at the wrong place at the wrong time. But thats true for every country i guess. The dancing at the end was there to have the impact 'feel good' vibe so that people can go home very happy.

Anyways, just watched Training Day again.

Denzel is pure badass (H)

The Wrestler - One of those movies where you can't imagine anybody else as the star after seeing it. Great movie, didn't particularly dig the ending. Marisa Tomei is topless for qute a bit of this movie - no doubt emboldened by her nude turn in "BEFORE THE DEVIL KNOWS YOU’RE DEAD" (2007). Evan Rachel Wood looks like she uses the same makeup as her boyfriend (?) Marilyn Manson. She would have made a good 'Twilight' Vampire. Mickey Rourke rocks out in this role and is entirely believable.

Munich was good in my opinion. But not Speilberg quality.

Yes, Keegs, I am expecting a good film out of The Wrestler. Got the DVD yesterday But did'nt find the time to watch it. Will do it in the next week or so.

It was a pretty good movie, until the ending, which I thought was kind of dumb. But other than that, and the fact that it seemed to run extremely long, I enjoyed it.
