Celtic ace Henrik Larsson is considering coming out of international retirement to play for Sweden in this summer's European Championship.
The prolific hit-man has previously rejected all overtures to return to the international scene after quitting at the end of the 2002 World Cup.
Larsson, who did make a return for a one-off match against Hungary in Euro 2004 qualifying due to an injury crisis, has now been swayed by the public clamour for him to return for the finals in Portugal.
Uefa president Lennart Johansson, Sweden coach Lars Lagerback and even England coach Sven Goran Eriksson have called on Larsson to come out of retirement and the player's agent Rob Jansen revealed the striker is giving serious thought to the possibility.
It is a total change of heart from Henrik, but he has been touched by the feelings of his nation," said Jansen.
"It is in Henrik's mind, but he has not yet made a final decision.
"He knows everyone there, including the Uefa president, wants him to play over in Portugal this summer.
"He wanted to retire and concentrate on his club football with Celtic.
"He has done that successfully and now he is ready to listen to what Sweden has to say again.
"The Swedes are happy to give him all the time in the world.
"We will now set a deadline for this. When he is ready, he'll tell everyone his decision."
Should Larsson come out of retirement it would provide a major boost for Sweden as they have struggled to fill the void after his retirement.
