Laptops

Hey guys, I need some help. I'm wondering if any of you know whether Fujitsu or Toshiba laptops are any good? We have a family friend who said that he can get any a laptop from the companies I mentioned for half-price so I'm just wondering if they are good enough for college. Here's a laptop I'm looking at right now. Let me know what you think about it:

Toshiba is selling this one for $1,649.00. That would be $824 for me. If you have any other alternatives, post them. Thanks.

My lil' bro has a Fujitsu, it hasn't had any problems yet (since october).
Toshiba is the origin of laptops, they've always been good, so...

wouldn't trust fujitsu-siemens amilo-series. We had 2 last year, both broke due to heavy usage. atleast refunds were given.

for over 2500€ there should've been SOME quality.
