They've had great players, but all of the money in the world wouldn't have kept all of them at Valencia.

The Galicians are back! Deportivo and Celta finished first and second and are back in Primera.

The last team promoted will be decided in a four-team playoff (two legs each round) of the 3rd through 6th place teams:
3 Valladolid 82
4 Alcorcón 73
5 Hércules 72
6 Córdoba 71

I'm not sure about dates, but I believe it will be the following matchups, with the first listed team hosting the first leg.
Hercules - Alcorcon
Cordoba - Valladolid

I watched the end of the Celta - Cordoba match, and it was scandalously boring. Both teams were good with a draw, so they only put up the merest facade of actually playing, and I don't think a single shot was taken on goal.

The bottom four teams would be relegated, but the forced relegation of Villareal B means that Sabadell stay in Segunda.
19 Sabadell 46
20 Cartagena 40
21 Alcoyano 37
22 Gimnástic 31

They also had the players' strike at the start, so that delayed the season's kick off too.

Spain can't organise ****.
What's the problem with the season going this late? Not a lot of Segunda players heading to the Euro.... I've always enjoyed having the fight for promotion to watch once everything else is finished.

I doubt Betis can finish in top 8 at the end of this season.

What are you basing that on?

I bet they do.

Betis was amazing last season as well, we beat them in copa del rey because Messi.

Because they lost one match in which they were more dangerous throughout?

Looks like I was right, they finished 13th.

Betis were 5 points off 8th, 3 points off 9th, just 8 points off Europa. To be fair, they were also that much away from relegation.

tbh, apart from Barca-Real, it's a competitive league and any team has a chance to beat another team. You can describe it as 2 Goliath and 18 David.
