Yes, most of those programs have the "poison" files attached to them and IMO it's safer and cleaner not to use them.
The main reason why i won't go near them is b'cos they can cause serious system lock ups and bandwidth problems, plus the fact that those 'demographic research' companys who pollute the net are Bastards to say the least.
1:> I don't need warez/movies.
2:> Why would you want to open up your system to the likes of the data collation companys.
Anyway if any of you guys who take the time to read these threads and care about your Pc's security there is a terrific freebie program called Ad-Aware Plus that you can use to clear up all the dross and filth that pipes down the Bandwidth onto your system, and for all you guys who havn't yet used this program, you will be amazed at what it digs out and finds nesting on your system --

After browsing the net, run this program to see what has been embedded into the win reg whilest browsing the net, if there are any new entries in the win reg that you havn't installed yourself, use this program to remove the new reg entries.
