You can basically go to Africa, Asia, South America ect and almost everyone will know who 50 cent is, no doubt he will sell more. Kanye is the better rapper and from listening to Graduation it's a hot album, still haven't heard Curtis tho.

50 is probably gonna outseel kanye. from what I've heard both album's are the the worst of the respective artists. although "the good life" and "stronger" are some of kanye's best tracks. "ayo technology" is such a bad try to hop on the timbo ban wagon by 50, ridicioulos.

I heard both albums and they are both decent, but Curtis just edges out a bit.
Kanye West kills 50 Cent in lyrical part no doubt, there is not even a comparison, however the production he uses and especially the countless number of old samples on the album, makes me tired of the songs fast. "Can't Tell Me Nothing", "Stronger", "Homecoming" and "Big Brother" are the songs that i really like.
However, with Kanye having much better and more purposeful lyrics, 50 Cent pretty much destroys Kanye in production department. And maybe its because of the much higher energy that the album gives me, i like it more because Graduation is very deep and soulful album and i'm not much of a soul music person. Songs i really liked are "Ayo Technology", "I Get Money", "Peep Show", "Touch The Sky" and "Curtis 187". "Come and Go" is not bad, production by Dr. Dre really makes it much better than it would have been, however the chorus sucks.
Anyway, i think its more of the type of person that you are because the two albums are very very different, Graduation is deep and sort of slow coasting album, while Curtis is just gangsta reckless style (just like his other albums) and more of a higher energy album. You can really see how the way the two rappers were brought up influenced their music.

Anyway, speaking of rap albums, anybody listened to Chamillionaire's Ultimate Victory album? I might be a little bit biased towards him because of how smart, truthful and opinionated Chamillionaire is, but i think that the album does not have 1 single song that you could skip, there is 17 of them and they are all great. I'm definietly buying that one come September 18.

Dude, Technology is a hot track, and Kanye is outselling 50 so far. Wrong across the board.

No, just recognition of good music. Also, rmember that Kanye does a lot of his own production where 50 Cent does... nothing what so ever.

All in all, Graduation is kinda disappointing and all people can say about 50 Cent's album is "it's not as bad as his last one." Laughable.

I just finished listening to 50 Cent's CD. It sucks. Well, I mean most of the beats are hot, but the commercialism makes it unbearable for me. 50 just raps about the same **** over and over while different beats go on the background. The only reason I even bothered to check out the CD was because of Ayo Technology. Follow My Lead is also pretty good. But it's pretty ****ty overall to me.

My taste is obviously towards Kanye's type of music, but I actually wanted to give Curtis a try. That **** is too commercial, though. I just can't really be bothered to give it another listen.

50 Cent epitomises the whole gangsta braggado thing I dislike about hip-hop. I like my stuff removed from that whole culture (Lupe, Atmosphere, Kanye, Streets) or if it is.... "ghettocentric"... I like it NOT dumbed down, and able to make me think (Nas, Kweli, Mos, Common, IT, even AZ). So a pass on 50 - who to me screams "gangsta music for the club [where it's ok] and the 12 year old white suburbanite" - even though what I've heard of Graduation isn't all that great.

my thoughts exactly.. I haven't heard the new 50 Cent and can't say I have much desire too, although I'll probably listen to a few tracks just for curiosity's sake.

I've never been a fan of Kanye as a rapper but I do like him as a producer, so I grabbed Graduation and it pretty much confirms the opinion I already had of him. There's a few decent tracks with good production value but nothing that really blows me away.

So I've listened to both and I can't say that I'm very impressed with either one but I give Graduation the edge because Kanye doesn't sound like he's falling asleep when he raps.

I like Stronger and Champion off of Graduation and Ayo Technology off of Curtis. I've only listened to each album once though so my opinion of both will probably change with a few more listens.

Would you now like to tell me who sold more? Were the projections wrong? Don't think so.

930 to 660! Damn, 50 Cent still sold a lot during such times when CD sales are so low and iTunes are dominating. But Kanye absolutely killed it, even i'm surprised that he almost went platinum in the first week. Expect at least triple platinum for him. Hip-hop might be ok afterall, now we just need a good follow-up from Rich Boy, the one that's not influenced by major labels.

Rich Boy? I don't think his last album even went gold. And no disrespect to the hot club track "Throw Some D's", but come on man. Rich Boy ain't saving hip-hop.

No he might not yet, but he is more of the talented rappers out there. His debut album wasn't that great because he wanted to just get his name out there and the label told him to follow the typical modern day formula for a rap album. It wasn't even his singles that grabbed my attention, infact i didn't like "Throw Some D's" at all, it was more of "And I Love You", "Hood Riches", "Lost Girls" and "Role Models" that i liked about him, plus one interview where he was doing some real talk. Maybe he will be a bust i don't know, but i'm definietly more excited about his follow-up album, then another Rick Ross or Fat Joe album.

Only time will tell, maybe you guys will be right afterall.

Ok so after a second listen I have to say that 50's album is pretty much garbage and Kanye's I have actually listened to twice more, not as good as his last ones but still a good album.
