Yeah, Chiellini's technique is just too poor to be a left back and take part in offensive build-up plays. He has no business on the opponent's half. De Ceglie and Grosso aren't the level Juve should be striving for either (especially defensively), so for the time being I don't mind, especially if Barzagli and Bonucci do a good job. He's one of the best CB's in the world though, so this should really be a short term thing.
