I'm appalled at the number of silly dismissals, jealous responses and predictions of failure from poor man's prophets in this thread.

When you are jealous, it's so easy to forget that this isn't the U.S. folks, it's BRASIL. It is NOT easy to make it as a kid in Mexico, Central America, or South American countries.

I can remember how hard it was for kids to get into academies in Mexico, and it wasn't easy. Only the top kids (or those with rich parents and lots of power and influence) made the academies and eventually broke into the first teams.

However, I cannot imagine how unbelievably difficult it is to get attention or exposure of this kind for a 9 year-old kid, especially in a country which is incredibly rich in talent like Brasil.

While it is definitely good to have some reservation and not get ahead of ourselves, it is also good to have some RESPECT. Don't let your own experience in competition or simple jealousy get in the way of hoping that this kid doesn't get eaten up before we can see him develop.

I know that I've enjoyed watching Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Zidane, etc., over the years. I simply cannot imagine what football would be like without them. I've learned so much from them and developed many skills from watching them that I wouldn't ever have if they didn't have the opportunity and support of those that recognized their talent when they were young.

I support this kid, and I hope that the clubs aren't simply looking for another star, but are concerned about his development first and foremost as a child, and ultimately, his potential as one of the top footballers of our future.

I forgot to say this in regard to people criticizing the boy's supposed "limited abilities," or claiming that "anyone can do that," including my dog:

During an AC Milan match I was watching, a commentator said about Kaka's performance "He is only 22 years old, and the scary thing is, he can only get better."

Now, imagine if the kid is doing somewhat complex things for someone his age. Can you imagine what he will be capable of in 10 years' time ?

And something for the jealous types to ponder: how capable were you at 9 years old ?

How can a 9 year-old kid withstand the pressure like this?!
This probably ruins him.... :(

just let him grow like a normal 9 yo kid...
thats good to bring him to Manchester United when he is 15. :p what a genius, a gifted footballer.

Wow the little dudes clearly a genius in the making
dunno how anyone can make some of the comments i`ve read in this thread.

Good Luck to him, dunno about his old boy though he`d be better off in a soccer accademy in the epl or europe somewhere.

if porto and man utd are both interested, it's more likely that the kid comes to portugal...i mean, he's brazilian, the kid doesn't even know what england is...anyway, a logical thing for manchester would be signin him or getting a deal with him but making the kid come to porto for a couple of years...then when he grows up he would travel to england......just a though...
