I've Mastered FIFA2004 (xbox).... almost

I say almost... 'cause everytime that you think "Yeah... i've got this beat" i lose...

But in Career Mode with my Vicenza team i just finished my 3rd season on World Class Level... and i won Serie A by 12 points... i wrapped the season up heaps before that and just simulated the last few games when i didn't need to win anymore...


... The only trouble i still have with the game is when i play Juventus (they always beat me for some reason)... and when i play AC Milan at the San Siro...

For some reason... after coming off about 12 straight wins... i got thumped 5-0 by AC Milan... WHY?... HOW?... HOW does this happen you may ask...

I'll tell you why !!!!

'cause the stupid shadow from the stadium covered over the last 30 yards of the field down one half.... so that would mean, while i'm playing in white and could see my players... When the AC Milan players would go in there they'd be virtually invisible.... so i couldn't attack nor defend properly... (i probably could have changed the PPS setting on my TV to make it brighter, but why should i have to damage my eyes)


apart from that the game is going well....

OTHER THINGS NEEDED IN THE GAME THOUGH...

1. Save Replay option
2. A record kept of your transfers etc...
3. Records kept from previous season tables/stats etc etc etc

you won seria a by 12 points vicenza you must play this game everday. yesterday i playe real madrid vs australia and i was real madrid and i got thumped 6-0. shame though

Yeah, they carve me up too. They never use the wings either, they just go right up the middle and it always seems like I'm playing with the offside trap on (even though I never do), because the timing of their passes/runs is perfect, and Del Piero and Trezeguet always score.

I know what you're talking about there, playing at Anfield is just as bad. The goal on the right is covered by the shadow.

Hey Spurious,

I'm curious if you could offer a tip or two here. I have xbox as well and am in my first season...

I'm playing with the Gunners though, my fav team
Haven't made any serious transfers yet this season, plan to in Dec-Jan..Right now I've just been developing Toure, as he's the only one worthwhile of developing.

I'm about 9 games into the season and have qualified for the semi-finals in the league cup (next match vs Man U..OUCH!)

I can hold my own in most games winning either 1 - 0, 2 - 1 or drawing...

My main problem is that EVERYTIME I score, a couple minutes later the computer always seems to make some ridiculous through pass from midfield which lets his striker walk right in and tie the game. *always*....

It's rather annoying how I draw so often

I've been experimenting with OTB although most of the time Henry seems to go offside :P

I usually kick in OTB on offence when I'm about half-way past midfield on the wing..

I guess the main pointers I'm looking for is are you aware of any suttle little graphical things to look for which might signify which teammate to pass towards when on offence?

Things like seeing your striker wave his arm in the air, or upon receiving a pass noticing a striker who has a inside line on his marker, to quickly send in a through pass.

If the defender marking you with the ball is on you like glue, I've noticed through pass is only really good to get the pass past said defender. 98.863% of the time a through pass with some strength on it ends up in the defenders hands.

Anyhow, any suttle pointers besides the obvious?

p.s ...and yes, I do play on world class. heh

WOw .. iam in my 2nd season ... in the english primer league .. iam playing with MAN UTD .. and i won the first season on Semi-Pro ... now i tried a gameplay patch and oam playing on proffisional ... and oh iam in the 10th place after 5 wins 7 draws and 5 losses ... and iam out from the league cup ... but iam in the round of 16 in the ECC

i dont think i'll win the league or the ECC

I wrote some tips in the Hint and Tips sticky section (Page 7) ... and somewhere else (i can't remember... i think Real Madrid was the creator of the thread or something...)

... um, apart from what i wrote on those... i dunno... i'm kinda hungover at the moment... so i won't type much... just think about these few things and work out your own tips from them...

#1: - Use OTB in both the attack (crosses when the striker still running and is just outside the 18 yard box... chesting it down then shooting on WC level is more effective than direct headers... anything is easy on Semi-Pro)... and use OTB in defence (when you need to clear the ball with a defender... don't just hit B or X.... put on OTB and then hit b... it'll lob the ball to your striker... and you'll hold onto the ball much more, and you can counter attack with headers-on from your striker to wingers etc...

#2: - Use Y in defence... running your keeper out is important

#3: - Learn how to shake tacklers off... you don't need to run... just turn a hard 90 degrees away by using the d-pad...

#4: - I Have an idea.... put it on WC level... and watch a CPU Vs CPU game... learn how they score... and then learn how to do it better... with that and your OTB skills... you should win all the time...

... um i have to go get some sleep...

P.S. -- No i haven't noticed any graphical changes... remember... if the AI can work out who should put their hand up... then the other AI can probably work out that thats who they should mark and shut down next... so don't worry about that...
