I've got a new job!

After 27 years I was made redundant at the end of 2007.

We were told the office was to close back in June, so I had plenty of time to come to terms with it and to find a new job.

Started three weeks ago with a firm where 4 of my new colleagues used to work with me over the last few years.

Anyone else got a new job in the last 12 months?

congrats man.

I've had the same job for the past 3 years, but I'm thinking it's run it's course and I'm gonna need a change soon. I'm off for the winter months right now (probably until early March) but I can't stop dreading the thought of going back :(

But at the same time, I don't really have the drive to go out and look for something else either, so wtf can ya do?

That's one long winter break!

Yeah, I work outdoors for the most part so I'm usually off from about mid-Dec to early March. It's about the only good thing about this job these days, but then again, I'm not really making any money during this time so it has it's downside too.

Help?

I'm a student I dont have to enter the world of real work for atleast three and a half more years go me!!!!

Though I did see an ad for a job in a cheese store the other day, I'm tempted to apply and ask to be paid in cheese.

I've had 2 jobs with the same company in the last 12 months, left them in the May because it was a temporary role, then went back there a month later to do another long-term temporary role. Now currently job hunting but I've got 4 interviews next week so that'll keep me busy, and hopefully put me back in work.

Depends on the cheese tho.. I'm quite picky my self
This shop has lots and lots of different cheeses. My arrangement would be that I would work for free so long as I could eat the cheese whilst I worked and take a bit of a different one home with me every night.

Edamnit Alex, ewe really get my goat's, ewe really should brie more mature. Ewe act like ewe're from elemmentally school, stilton's of blue jokes. We gouda sit down and talk about this, ricotta get talking, the sooner the butter. You've been like a roque fortey times now, you need to mould a little. This animosity gru yere by year and it's really starting to grate me. If ewe dont like it and keep getting fraiche with me you can chevre it up your ass.

Can I wedge in one more? Ewe'd feta believe it.
