Some of you really are incredibly closed minded.

I love PES3. I couldn't bear to play another game or lose PES. Yet I can still see that there are undoubtably flaws in the game.

Give the guy a break. The game's weaknesses aren't nearly enough to put me off playing, but clearly for some people they are.

no game can be prefect, but PES3 is more close to it than Fifa..
I wish I could play and compete online like in Fifa2003..

Pes(3) is thee footballing sim , but! there is room for improvement. Pes(3) wins hands down no other football game can touch it, but that's not to say that it has flaws. Offball! The amout of times Ive been breaking foward in MF only for my forwards not to move ( make runs ) or if they do it's straight in front of you ( and your left screaming at the screen for them to break left or right so you can pss to them). And to those who say I have not got the game set up correctly .. I have "all out attack" players set to high reaction for loose balls and individual settings ( the little arrows ) highlighted to make runs forward and left for right for wingers, yet even with all that , you still don't get players making runs. I love this game but that does not blind me to the fact that there are flaws in the game.

Ps although not part of this, please please Konami in PES4 take out auto-defending or an option to switch it off.

Sorry if I confused! Of course AI has to defend , I am talking about those "Auto" Clearances ball drop to your defender in the box your in the clear and want to bring the ball under control but before you can "highlight" him , he headers or boots the ball ( a lot of times just outside the box ) and gives the ball away. I am not talking about AI defending in general but those times when crosses come into the box, a player "not" under your control clears or attemps to clear the ball, a lot of times ending up with the ball falling 25-30yrds from goal and being picked up by the other side.

Sorry man, i disagree, We7 is by far better... there are a few bugs and issues that need to worked on in the passing system. But the game has improved from WE6 FE to WE7.

oh....I don't get this a lot, but it used to frustrate the hell out of me. That is untill I started noticing this in real soccer, hardly any scrambled clearences make it over half way, and 90% of them are picked up by the attacking team whose defenders are around the half way mark....

So I think it's pretty realistic, also, when the ball is in the air and you're gonna get it with one player cleanly, quickly tap L1 and change into him, then don't touch anything as he brings it under control...if you go spastic on the buttons every one that a chance will try and boot/head it away..

if you are complaining, you either dont play enough, or you just plain and simply suck because if you were good, none of those things would be hapenning, you would switch your players qucker so ball doesnt roll past their legs, the game was made for you to do the work, not the AI

Whoever searches on internet a forum where the discussion is about a game, must love that game, so i don't think the loyalty of the guy who made the post shoud be discussed

We all love pes by its nature but we are all different people.

I agree with the one who said that pes2 is better and still can't stop playing pes3.

There are some things that drives me crazy like:

If cpu has to score it scores no matter what u do

cpu players have automaticaly their stats boosted when they are supposed to do something otherwise they couldn't be able to do.
This is the reason why sometimes u see cpu players with stats like the ones we all have irl, make some moves that would make Maradona shout : "INCREDIBLE!!!"

The ball sometimes when it's in the air, if the cpu HAS to achieve something, is moved imperceptible along the x/y/z axis to favor cpu players...

The cpu players can push, punch, kick, offbalance etc etc you at their please, in other words they have the license to do as many fouls as they like without making the referee whistle at all.

Sometimes cpu players become untangible to let them overtake you and get the ball possession.

The list up her could continue but the concept is evident:
unlike pes2, pes3 CHEATS for balancing something it lacks, which could be AI...

Playing master league at level 4 is like playing Fiji Islands again Beloved Brazil at every match, on top of that if yuo buy a 1000 credits player (only 1 buy) you must win every match to finish the season in positive.

Sometimes i really would like to have the programmers in front of me...

What is strange is that in the end i LOVE this game and hardly can stop playing...

It's unfair, it plays a dirty game, it cheats but i love it.

ok, cpu plays more precise and fast in the last minutes (better than usual) if its down by 1 goal, but if you have good defenders and a good defending skill then there is no problem! when this is the case change your formation to something like 5-3-2 and zonepress priority A and you will see, that cpu has no chance to score..(if you are good in defending).. it only plays better and that is realistic IMO ...

i cannot tell you how tired i am of crap posts like this one right here. *every* time someone complains about elements of this game (with more or less valid arguments) some moron comes out of the bushes telling us that the critic must surely suck in the game due to inexperience, that it's all his fault, that he only need to practice more, yadda, yadda...

well, moron, many people who find certain aspects in this game questionable have played it (and its predecessors) for years and have a certain experience with this series. they are not beginners. and neither are they pathetic losers who applaud everything with "Konami" written on it, even if it were a heap of smelly poo...

Completely agree. I've played an unhealthy amount of this game since playing the first PES on the PS2, and although I love this game, it doesn't mean I'm too blinkered to see any of its limitations, including the 'cheating' AI.

I had just played 25th game of my League ( not Master League ) and had W12 D12 L1 now I kid you not! in most of these 12 draws the CPU cheated last mis goals from team who had hardly a shot all game. Just now finished my 26th game v Spurs no problem keeping them out ( easy ) winning 1-0 89.50 my denfender suddenly trip over there own feet and can't pass a ball 5yrds ( clear line of sight to team-mate ) I hit pass outside the 18yrd box and the ball roll about 2yrds in comes a attacker and gets in the box passes it across the face of the 6yrd box ( great no other attacker there ) my defender all alone at the back post will take it under control and I will move up and clear! No you don't (CPU) I'll have him auto-clear it for a corner.. Yes Goal Spurs 1-1 .. I kick off 89.55 .. 3 passes later 2 in MF 1 out wide I take my winger to the byeline to cross , defender just brushes mw aside and moves into his own box a couple of yards off the byeline and hits a passback to his keeper the keeper lets the ball run across the front of him and I bring in my 2 forwards the nearest gets across him and blocks his attempted clearance it drops near the pen/spot to my other forward ( ooh 2-1 ) just as I am about to hit it as it drops. the Ref blows and the commentator says "handball" the block hit me mid-body ( not for the first time when I could score from a blocked ball has the ref given a handball or should I say CPU!

Great game I love it , best by far I have played and I played the old "tape" version of EH's International Football (ps I was not a little boy when doing so! ) The game as flaws, every game does just because we highlight them does not mean we hate or dislike the game. I just want to see th series improve year by year. The AI for the non-cpu team need uping ( for want of a better word Im not a techie) the offball run that are there are not good enough. I have had MFer's take the ball for a run through the middle and my forward either just stand until I run by them or they run just a yard or two in front of you "not" peeling off if you hit a pass as you get closed down , more than not it will hit there heels.. High have set nearly all my players "not just the very good ones" to high reaction but even then on the whole they don't seem to react to loose balls sometimes even a few feet away. I have played all (nearly all ) football games for the PC and consoles and this is the best , but one thing I like about FIFA was the ability to hit a button and make players go off on runs ( not the latest "freestyle" where you can pick from 3 to pass to ) but the older "player run button" you could be moving up the right or left of midfield and as a defender came to close you down press this button and a full-back or wing-back would take off on a run outside of you and as you were closed down slip a ball to him. I would like to see that in the next version of PES and the moment off the ball runs by players is hit a miss. I you had it, it would cut out the "free player just standing until you got level with him or passed him ) ....

One thing I don't understand is when people complain that they dominate games and still lose. Did anybody see Wolves v Man Utd today where Wolves won 1-0? It happens frequently in real life where teams will dominate games but just cannot get a lucky break and if you were watching a computer replay of the game you'd say it was cheating A.I.! The more I play PES3 the more I see real life situations and frustrations come into play. How many of us have watched a soccer game convinced that the ref is biased? Happens in PES3 at times. I think there are A.I. faults here and there but a lot of stuff that looks like faults is just a reflection of real life. I love the fact you can play the same team twice in a row with the same team yourself and win one game confortably but lose the second game. I love the fact just because you play as Man Utd or Real Madrid that you can end up losing to West Ham. Frustration in sport is real and the fact people get frustrated playing PES3 makes it all the more real.

It's not like the frustration with FIFA 2004 where people are frustrated because they can score 4 out of 5 shots from 40 yards out which isn't realistic. I've seen Henry miss from 4 yards out in real life and I've seen complete donkeys score classic goals, the same thing happens in PES3.
