There is a way but it is complicated, I 've done it to both PES 3 and PES 4 to make it more challenging. It involves some fairly complex alterations with the option file editor. I won't type it up unless you say your still interested.
By the way I start Master League with the default players (castello,etc) on 6 stars. I change team order option to put the best teams in my league and still win every game but 2. It does get too easy if you are a veteran.

When China was playing football many other nations didn`t know what a football was. Now go ahead and say Japan sucks, or South/North Korea or Iran/Iraq and Syria..

yes, China was the first country to invent football long time ago. But i would like to see Hong Kong replacing China in PES5 
i m a Hong Kong person but Hong Kong is not a country so all Hong Kong people are Chinese that means People's Republic of China people. however many of us, HK people, dont like China because of their policy. they have no democracy at all. we dont want to say we are Chinese....
in one world-cup qualifier game HK Vs China and we lose 0-7. However China still couldnt get into the next stage coz another team (forget which one) beat Malaysia with 6-1 which makes them have a better goal defference record. after that Hong Kong team is blamed by fans of China that why didnt we lose 0-8 to let China go into the next stage.

No to be serious: in a great game like PES4 there should of course be place for all nations and all decent teams...I think that there shoud even be place for nations like Lichtenstein, Andorra, San Marino....and there should also be Italian Serie B teams, English 1. division teams, German 2. Bundesligateams and also the smaller leagues like Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria, Poland, Romania....
One of the few bad things about PES4 is that there are still to few teams.....
Talking about six stars and the difficulty levels, I agree that these levels are quite strange, in the sense that sometimes I hardly feel any difference between 3 and 4 stars...yes there is a slight difference....as there is also a slight difference between 4 and 5 stars...but it is strange that while the difference between 3 and 4 stars is relatively small - there is a HUGE difference between 2 and 3 stars: on 2 stars I win almost all my games with 4-5-6-7-8 goals difference. But on 3 stars I mostly win with one or two goals and even draw some games ....there should not be such a gab between level 2 and 3....and the difference between the upper levels should be biggger....

China invented soccer a long time ago, and their team still play like crap, that means they don't deserve a place in PES.
Japan, South Korea, Iran, iraq are much better than China, they beat china's ass all the time. Why should I say they suck?
