we talk about Totti because every media in Italy say that the team is nothing without Totti and posters say that without him there's no creativity. It's a f'ing team game and you win as a team.

the papers are what they are, we should all be accustomed to their stupidity and bad journalism. meh, i just think(actually with some know) you guys hate him and really don't want him to be at the world cup. what can you do.

some hate totti, i don't personally, but for juve fans it's very pleasing to see DP and the team fuction so well in his absence when so many predicted otherwise

as when the juventini were predicting DP to fill totti's shoes for the azzurri, many were dismissing del piero's ability

well, 1/1 so far for DP, and i don't think anyone can complain if the trend continues

but there is no doubt italy will be a better squad with totti included

Don't worry, I'm sure Germany will wake up when they have to. They need motivation to win something.
As someone said, they can't afford to f*ck up the World Cup especially at home.

As for the game, I'm happy for Italy's win, great test for Lippi so he can see how well the squad can do without Totti (like we didn't know that  ). Like I said, I'm happy with the win and waiting for the replayed game on Eurosport (got France - Slovakia instead).

Impressive result! It seems Italy is gonna be a striking force in the WC if they manage to keep this level (Y)

Apart from the US, they didn't play a single world class team and then got outplayed by Brazil in the final.

Brazil wouldn't have scored if Kahn hadn't made that blunder. I thought the final was Germany's best game, they could have won it with Ballack. They definitely didn't get outplayed.

Korea knocked out Italy and Spain and had homecrowd advantage, certainly no pushovers either.

We apologize for keeping the yellow too long
Yellow Card
Survival while OTHER MORE DESERVING TEAMS (COMING INTO THE TOURNAMENT) could not, could be considered worthiness!

Worthy finalists indeed.

You make it sound like US are World Class...

well in that case, if the US aren't world class, neither are Germany.

Well the gk position is really not a problem at the moment and has never been. Kahn, Lehmann and Hildebrand are all good goalkeepers. Hannover's Enke would be my favourite pick after the World Cup.

Out of the 18 Bundesliga clubs 16 have a German keeper. Too bad there are not as many defenders to choose from.

sorry to bring this up... but i saw the game, and i surely think Brazil outplayed Germany... they controlled most of the gameplay, and after they scored the first, it was over for Germany... they just couldn't do anything, Brazil was surely the better team and they proved it...

yes, you're right...its all about the defenders...but isnt the problem in the big amount of foreign players in the Bundesliga...while the young players from the club academies cant get first team experience...its just a suggestion
