till now i can't understand the relegation and promotion rules in itlaian serie a b and c for the new season can anyone explain?
in serie b in cm03/04 demo i c 5 teams in green and one in purple
what does that mean!
how only one team will play playoffs!
and will 5 teams promote!

theres a lot of playoffs involved, thats all i know, for both relegation and promotion, You think thats comlicated, just have a look at some of the South American Leagues.

basically the main difference with other leagues is that there is relegation playoffs. i think....

3 will drop down this year from Serie A, and 5 promoted from Serie B for this season so Serie A will have 20. Then after that it will be the usual, 4 up 4 down.

what i think now is that the 5 in green will promote and 3 in red from a will relegate then the 6th in b with the 15th in a will play a playoff for a seria a place

It is because the Serie B and small clubs always complain, and want a fair go, which should occur. In Italy, the big clubs get heaps more on TV deals because more watch. Small clubs complain and Serie B is complaining. Also, the introduction of Florentia into Serie B (when they should have been Serie C1) caused this. I suppose Berlusconi owning the television, a rich club, Prime Minister and all round bad guy is to blame!! :hump:

Robbo2000 is correct. However, this is for this year only. We currently don't know what the system will look like in 2004/2005, although Serie B should split into two groups of 18 teams, with Serie C/2 vanishing, in a couple of years. At least this was the original project, but everything changes every year because of the financial crisis.
