I would wait and see. I thought we6i sold well so hoepfully they will continue to release it here. However, if we do get we7i it probably won't be till March of next year which is when we6i came out. I am waiting to see what happens.

Officially nothing announced. If it happens, it'll likely be several months after PES3 comes out in Europe. My bet's on March 04, as well.

Honestly.

I think Konami wouold be idiots (and I know their marketing dept isn't always in the same universe as the rest of us) not to release WE7:I in the USA after releasing WE6:I and building a good fan base. Every kid I know has a soccer game on their console or PC and to give up on potentially one of their largest markets (remember that over 20 millions kids play soccer here either in recreational or competitive leagues year round and that doesn't include "adults" like me who buy the games too) would be a seriously dumb move, even for Konami.

I think the game will arrive here next year in the Spring sometime. Just because there's no official announcement yet from Konami doesn't really mean anything. They don't bang the drum 12 months before like EA every time they have a plan for a release.

I would be hugely hugely surprised if they don't release it here.

I hope they do release it here ...otherwise I'll be stuck playing the Jap bull forever :)

F U C K!!! I don't see why the wouldn't release it here. They annouced WE6I in Nov 2002, so I'm not surprised they ain't sayin nothing about WE7I yet...

were the sales that good, i read somewhere that sales were not as high as expected in the usa. many people blamed it on the piece of **** advertising konami did. Anyways, i just dont wanna mod my ps2
(and possibly lose ability to go on ps2 online) jsut for one game. even if i did mod, i dont wanna throw out 75 dollars for one game that isnt even in english! its ridiculous

the sales probably werent as good.. part of it.. marketing sucked.. and part of it.. most americans that play WE, already imported it either pes2 or we6:fe.... and thats what happens with the stupid Konami departmen insists on 3 different release dates all over the world so many months apart

Advertising is only the start of Konami's problems in the marketing area -- but we've discussed those issues in other threads not too long ago, so I'm not gonna start.

As for "to mod or not mod" -- it's been my personal belief that if a game ain't available in the U.S., then f*ck it, I ain't going the extra mile (and through the extra expense) to mod. Ain't desperate for any game that bad -- especially when I have my good ole WE6:I.

I thought when it first came out it did pretty well. Hopefully did well enough for them to continue to release it here. If not I keep playing we6i because it doesn't get old. :)

it actually wouldn't surprise me if they didn't release it over here....The sales were nowhere near as good as FIFA, and never will be...the casual gamer will always go for the licensed game whether it's better or not. I love WE, but occasionally like to digress and play FIFA too. They both offer different things that people like over the other game. Fact is, PES/WE is HUGE in Europe, but never will be over here because Konami doesn't market, and the people that do buy a soccer game get FIFA....most people like FIFA because before WE6:I, it was the only soccer game out there. I had FIFA 2002, and absolutely loved it. Konami may do another limited release next year, but yeah, if it does get ported from PES3, it'll be next March at the earliest....and for any American that's interested in patches, get WE7 now, because if it is released in the US next year, it'll be on DVD just like PES3 to accomodate all the extra commentary languages

Here's what KONAMI needs to do to compete with EA in da U.S.:

> release WE sim. with FIFA *A MUST*.
> ship millions of copies.
> send review copies to all mags & bigger sites before the release date.
> if they can't afford/get the FIFA licence just get the licences for all clubs indivdualy (they got 4 already MILAN, ROMA, LAZIO, PARMA)
> price = $39.99
> ads in mags & on most popluar sites (IGN, GAMESPOT)

Why ain't I working for KONAMI yet? :o

yea, don't know about elsewhere in this great big world but why is their game more expensive than all the rest. here it's at least 10 dollars more than other games.

fifa 2003 on the ps2 sold around 200,000, i dont think thats even enough for a company to break even... World Tour Soccer? less than 60,000.. just pathetic.. keep in mind these games have ALL the licenses.. i dont have WE's numbers, but im asumming it sold less than 10,000...

what?? most games cost $50 when they come out... so it would be 10 dollars cheaper... which I believe WE6:I was cheaper than usual.
