Is this game better than Fifa 2001?

I have played every version of fifa from 97 to 2001. I liked RTWC 98 and WC 98 only. I bought '99 '00 and '01 great graphics however gameplay left a lot to be desired. I have also followed many opinions on the soccergaming forums in that I purchased ISS Pro Evolution 2.... It is the antithesis to EA's Fifa series;

1. 1-2 passing (low and high over defences)
2. Through passes (low and high)
3. Realistic speed of players
4. Realistic headers and passing determined by the speed and direction that a player is travelling in.
5. Players control the ball with their chest, feet, and thighs ( amazing)
6. Players trap the ball whilst still moving fluidly
7. Volleys can go to the top hand of the goal, or bounce and go in or skid along the ground
8. not everyone can do bicycle kicks and even when they do they hardly go in.
9. Crosses can be whipped in high or low and the strikers won't always get to the them.
10. shooting is realistic, with the power bar; too much power and the ball goes over not enough and it trickles to the keeper, the ball can also fly low along the ground or you can curl it in the air to the top hand corner...Amazing!

I have listed 10 and only 10 of the great things about ISS Pro Evo 2

Some of the cons about ISS
1. ball floats when you cross
2. graphics are
3. it is only available on psx 1 and 2
4. needs a few special moves.

Other than that the game is awesome!

Should I buy UEFA challenge for my PC? :)

Yes, buy it!
It has an element of ISS which is nice and also the developers(3 of them at the moment) are on this forum and listen to what we want and they are making a patch at the moment, amazingeh!?
I'll quote a few things which UEFA Challenge has.
1-2 passing
realistic player faces and posture(ie. Jaap stam looks completely different to Harry Kewel)
neat passing and realistic shooting(as you meantioned)
Volleys can go way over the bar
headers arent always very strong(depends on the situation)
goalies aren't supernatural
players smoothly control the ball
and much more
Neat skill movements

Cons:
A few annoying bugs.But....they are making a patch at the moment which will sort out these cons :)

One bad thing of UEFA challenge that make me very fustrated is that the computer able to tackle from behind easily.
If you've played ISS1/2 you'll find this very fustrating as I am not able to dribble. Hope they fix it!

However, being a PC game, there is no online/dialup gaming and that's pretty bad. Nevertheless, U.C is definitely worth buying.

UEFA Challenge is definitely a game worth buying if you are a soccer fan. At this point in time, yes it is better than FIFA 2001, but it will be interesting to see how much EA changes their game when FIFA 2002 comes out, since EA has some serious competition.

Thank you for the information. The one thing I like the most about ISS is the fact defenders can't steal the ball miraculously from behind, it is not so good to hear they can do the same in this game as they can in Fifa.

Lets hope the developers who are listening on this forum, which by the way is fantastic, can change that particular part of the game in Uefa Challenge. I am sure if the development team from UC are here right now listening to us the next iteration will be brilliant! I hope the hard work they put into making the game and supporting the customers...us turns into commercial success for them. I hope it also sends a crystal clear message to the head up my ass arrogant developers @ EA, who continue to make a game that they like not us, we will jump ship and leave EA high and dry...I already have! How many emails, petitions, wishlist have we sent to EA? Hundreds, yet not one reply. The dev team from UC are here already! They should be commended, they have my total support. :D :D :D

Eleftherios - this game is curretly is a bit better than fifa, patched it will definitely be the best PC football game.
Don't expect it to be an ISS beater though, KCET have been tweaking their game for years now and have the best gameplay available.
Personally I cant wait to see what ISSPE2 will be like on PS2, then see how next years UEFA plays after a year of feedback from the community.

Don't worry, all your comments are being noted and, where possible, will be acted on in any future release.

Hi,

Can anybody say if the dutch competition with all the teams are in uefa challenge?

And which dutch stadiums are in it?

And last but not least: is there a demo coming of the game?

Thanks for the info.

So you can't compare Fifa with Uefa challenge. U.C. is a kind of uefa cup and champions league game.

I hope that it will be fixed in future versions. Than you can get a real fight between the 2 games.

A fight? Why? Uefa Challenge is just a unique game, I don't have it yet but I get it very soon. But if I can be just as positive as the people here who like the game then I don't think Fifa will be on my computer anymore, and I think I won't even buy an original copy of Fifa 2002. Oke my favorite team is in the game (PSV) but even if it were not in the game I would give it a try.
