In career mode, why can't we look at other leagues week to week standings???

I mean, come on! That's a pretty easy one to have in the game...

I don't disagree with you, it would be nice for the rest of the football world to carry on around your team, but in FIFA 2005 those other league/cup games don't even take place, the game just works out (semi-randomly, best as I can tell) who finishes in which position in each league/cup for the purposes of deciding promotion/relegation and qualification for other tournaments.

The only ones that are even simulated (at some fairly minimalist level) are those games in competitions that the manager's team is involved in (so if you make it into the qualifying round of the ECC then both the ECC and EFA get simulated, because you could end up in either, but if you make it directly into the group stage of the ECC the EFA results don't even get
calculated).

As you say, it is a shame but there has to be a trade-off between speed of passage between games and the level of detail. Hopefully EA will expand career mode even further in the next version or two and we'll end up with something as comprehensive as the 'spreadsheet football' management games but with the ability to get down and dirty on the pitch. We'll see ;)

Agree. It takes much more time in between games to simulate the result of each match-up in every single league available.

But I just hate that I can't even see the table of top scorer in the league or the table of assists in my team. That, IS easy to make cause they simulate the result AND the scorer of other games in the league anyway. Say when you buy players from your league, they already have the stats of games played and goal scored. Just need to SQL the data to a table.

I totally agree here, I don't care so much about the scores of individual games, but at least let us see the standings for other leagues.

Same. They should make up the tables completely randomly. All you see is the teams, positions, and points. It would be especially good for checking out the league above you, or below you to see who's coming up/down, just out of curiosity.
