A train that transported yellow phosphor, a very toxic substance has derail and exploded monday (16/7/07) near ukrainian city Lviv ... the incident wounded very bad 20 people . The toxic cloud lie on about 90 square km above Lviv and also may affect neighbour countryes. The officials hide this incicent and near by countryes haven't been informed yet.

all neighbours may be affected, it depends on the direction of the wind... but why alwaays ukraine make this stupid accidents....why they are so indolent with very toxic substances. I hate to have such imbecile neighbours !

I heard on the news that the conditions in witch they transported that toxic substance were insanely primitive....you just don't play with these things !!..

If they plan to make this kind of dessastres regularly at least don't affect other countries!!!:kader:

I don't think the Ukraine actually did anything here. Isn't it the railway company that messed up? Or the company that was transporting the substance? You can't blame the government for everything. Maybe the situation isn't as dire as you thought, which could be why no one other countries were informed.

What is up with all these political threads, anyway?

Huntelaar. There, making it right.

What country do you live in? I assumed it was Italy because of your sig, and it's left me confused as last time I checked Italy isn't exactly next door to the Ukraine.

Phosphor isn't the same thing as phosphorous. A phosphor is any substance that has a sustained glow after interaction with an energised particle. (ex. photon, electron, muon . . . ) The most common phosphor is ZnS:Cu, and most (if not all) don't contain phosphorous itself.

Phosphorous is pretty nasty stuff too, it's very toxic.

A truck carrying liquid nitrogen rolled over on a Charlotte highway today and spilled the s*it all over. Imagine if it had exploded. The truth is stuff like this happens, it happens a lot more often then you might think but the media only picks up on certain incidents. Since Ukraine has had these sort of issues in the past, media probably jumps at the gun every time something toxic spills in Ukraine.

Seriously though, who cares? There's probably a river or lake closer to your house than that place in Ukraine where all the trash ends up creating toxic gases.

And another thing, I'm so tired of Romanians having this "better than others" attitude. If there's one thing that I learned while living in the USA for 7 years it's that. When I went back to visit I could not stand going out and meeting new people because all they did was talk about all the s*it they own. It's such a bad trait to have as a people but I feel it's more present now then ever and I don't really know what gave us that arrogance in the first place. Romania is a beautiful country with great people but there's no reason we should go prancing about like we're the s*it because as of right now we have no reason to. Hell if anybody should be doing it, it should be me. Whenever I visit I should start talking about how my family owns 4 cars, one for every member, how we have a tv in every room, how my house is way bigger than theirs, how i can get a job at 17 and they go to college and still can't get one, but I don't do that and I don't understand the need for current citizens of Romania to do it either.

wow, that was some damn tangent i went off on there

You're living in USA and you're not affected directly by this, ..if you were in Romania I wonder if you had the same attitude

The picture is alot worse as it seems at the first look, the ukrainian vice-premier compared it to cernobil. :f***:

as you said accidents happen, but this is the third major ecological accident they produce, after cernobil and bastroe...how come every time this type of accidents happen in ukraine? and the problem it's not the accident by itself... the fact that they are trying to hide it and act like nothing happened, this is the most worrying...

Cernobil? Isn't that when two big.. thingies imploded and turned a whole city into Leprosy Town? Woo, I'm cultured.

Doesn't Steaua live in Romania? I'm finding out all sorts of things today...

Don't worry, brah. This demigod will subdue that bellowing smoke by way of a roundhouse, a sweet ass left uppercut, right hook, uppercut again, and then finally an armbar to end all armbars......ain't nothin' to it.
