I'm Having A Hard Time Signing Players

Vinman

Club Supporter
I have Fifa 2006 on PS2, and am in my 3rd season with Scun thorpe United (English team) in the career mode

I have advanced from the English 2nd division up to the League Championship, just 1 step from the Premiership

I have alot of money (over 60,000), and have up-graded my negotiator to level 5, but when I try to sign players, almost every time I get denied.

I have tried to re-negotiate, and even offer more money, and percentages for goals scored (for forwards and midfielders), and still I am denied

What can I do ??

Any help is appreciated !!!

dont try looking for top class players in the above leagues, that wont work, rather try for players in single division leagues or french, italian, spanish and german division 2. I am in my third season with Grenoble in Divison 2 France and instead of focusing trying to find players, I raise my scouting level first and try that method and if I want any veterans, that is when i would search and offer alot of money for really good players....
so far my biggest purchase was lell from cologne and that was because I needed a good right back that has experience and so far its been a success under my 4-3-3 formation.... :jambo:

What does "want to see a more sincere amount mean?" (It cant mean more money, because even as one of the top side with tons on money in the EPL, with me pouring much more than necesarry cash)

i dunno usually when that comes around i stop trying for the player, usually if i am signing a player i offer around 50 more points in the wage then the market value and 2000 points extra in the transfer... if that does not work, i give up

If your manager status is reasonably high and u've got a decent scout u can pick up pretty good players.

On a medium search for defenders my scout came back with two defenders at 89 and 91 who were both under 25. Much easier than tryin to sign players from other clubs.

This was after being turned down by multiple players feom Germany and England when trying to sign them to come and play for Lyon.

You need to pay careful attention to the message in the negotiation history, which will tell you whether it is the team or the player blocking the deal. You have to satisfy the team's demands first (basically, just the transfer fee - you may have to offer several thousand points over the odds) and then the player's. Some problems you can't resolve (like too few players to allow the transaction to complete) but the rest are generally just a question of throwing points (ie. money) at the problem.

If a player says your club is not prestigious enough then you may find that even more money won't grease the wheels, but that may depend on your manager prestige, your negotiator level, and on luck. Oh, and don't forget that you can use double bid points to try and influence a player a little more strongly in your favour.

It means the team wants a higher transfer fee for that player

Overall I agree that a good scout will generally find enough 'gems' to enable you to play the transfer market sparingly (and that route has the advantage of being available to you throughout the season - although watch that wage bill as you add extra bodies and can't dump players until the transfer periods)
