Closing Comments

That’s always been part of PES’s charm, though. It’s not a goal-fest like FIFA but a much more tactical, realistic game. Its trademark tight gameplay is still intact, although it's not as sharp as the current-gen versions and the analogue stick isn’t quite as direct as a d-pad. Despite this, it still offers a football experience much closer to the real thing that any other football game. Admittedly, the online mode isn’t fantastic and - while it's perfectly playable over Live - it only supports one-on-one matches, which is a huge step backwards considering the online PS2 game is much more substantial. We can’t help but feel a little disappointed with the presentation of the 360 version either, especially in light of the great things EA achieved with FIFA 07. However, there’s no denying PES 6 is still a great – probably the best, in fact – football game on Xbox 360.

At the end of the day, it's basically one guys review.
Whether it be for pes or that other game, it's still one guys opinion. Another guy in the same office may think that pe6 is the absolute bees knees, but since he's not the one giving the review it matters not what he thinks.

If you like the game that's all that matters.

Of course this is true, but we, or at least I, read reviews, and not just one, so I can make up my mind if the game is worth purchasing, if it's something I might like. Since there is no demo available at the time, and probably won't be one for quite some time, if ever.

Fair point. I myself generally take gamespot's reviews and pc gamer's reviews as a good recommendation before i buy any games for my pc or 360.

As for pro 6 , there are no reviews available by them yet. So i bought it anyway, buts lets face it when do konami ever bring a bad soccer game out.

I think the marks are way too high. I would give it this:

7.0 Presentation
Menu are improved. They look nice and neat.

6.8 Graphics
Same as ps2 version only a little polished. In wide cam its almost the same. For a 360game its dissapointing. I think the pc version with patches will look better. Oh and no untucked shirt anymore and player models look somewhat weird.

7.0 Sound
Sound isnt really great. I play with a 5.1 dolby digital souns system and the commentary sound is too sharp and noisey. The audience sound is good and you can also hear the coaches, thats nice.

8.7 Gameplay
Good gameplay, but not anything major from pes5.

7.5 Lasting Appeal
Xbox live isnt working right now. If konami cant fix this is would give the lasting appeal a 6.5
