think it's in this one or the xbox movies where there's a goal...and the keeper saves the first shot, but doesn't dive when the guy hits his 2nd shot, reminds me of 2003:(

i dont think the goalie had enough time to dive... cause it was a blocked shot and then one timer back in... but hopefully it wont be as in 2003 on situations when it takes longer

could be right, but something about that clip doesn't seem right, maybe the ball rebounds off the keeper too quickly, or the player is able to control it too easily or something, just think if he's on the stretch, as he was on that video i think, he wouldn't be able to hit the ball with such pace that the keeper can't get near it...seems most footy games struggle with rebounds from what I've seen

Never ever compare FIFA with PES, FIFA is the king but PES's just a slave.
I know FIFA has some problems but never more than PES.
God bless FIFA:rockman: :rockman:

I've played both games yes PES & WE gameplay is lots better than fifa but i've got to say i get bored of it after time it feels so dull no real atmosphere i seem to lose interest even with it having great gameplay. As for Fifa presentation atmosphere is top notch but gameplay is poor. I just hope this year there better play in the gameplay and i will be playing in more than PES.

After the abomination that was Fifa2003, there is no room for comparison between fifa and WE... One's just good and the other sucks.

Let's hope this new Fifa brings a change.

Back to the real topic...the videos. I was excited to see in the videos that the ball moved at different speeds and that all the lobs didn't go at the same angle. Also that free kick was actually fairly realistic. If you've ever played football for real, you'd know that some free kicks are indeed struck with that much pace and the keeper has little time to react to them. Anyways, from the very early, emphasize very early, look of things, it seems that EA Sports might have finally done some of the things they said they would do. Bring on the demo. :D

i disagree with you here, like i said before the ball movement was bad imo;in every pass the ball rolls way too fast and never chnges the speed;about the free kick i think it's very realistic

I disagree with all complaining about the game Ive seen a big size video of the gamplay and it looks like Fifa is going to kick ass
this year. There are still some bads about it but in sure theyll all
get fixed.THE GAME HAS BEEN IMPROVED ALOT if you say you watched the videos and still complain that means youve never played fifa before !!!!!!

My only concern is that the vidoes are for the PS2 and I know Fifa reacts different on the two machines (PC) : )

Totally agree with Matt.. I´ve played FIFA since 1994... i´m in love with it.. bought it every year... recently got WinningEleven 6

They´re both great games, each one has it 'unique' touch... I love playing both and having both... I WILL buy FIFA 2004 and WE7...

why not have the 2 best soccer games ever? hope both EA and Konami keep up with the great work... they push each other into better games each year...

By the way, im an IGN insider... just saw those 10 videos... looking pretty good!!! ... by the way... u saw those emexicans teams??? :rockman: :rockman:

!!!

by the way Matt, those mexican kits are kind of old... hope EA sees this or hope u can let them know... lots of people would offer to get pics of the current ones for EA, at very high res... (even of any banner and flags...)

thnx Matt and EA!!!

each year there is always the same comments: if you are a sceptic you pick out the -ve aspects of the vids, but if your an optimist you pick out the +ve aspects. I am a sorta optimist: i focus on some awesome parts of the video: i thought that the passage of play by man utd at the end that led to the free kick when scholes was fouled was a great passage of play - lots of quick passing to players running on to the ball - life like! also good was when ally mcoist was all like "great technique for the free kick" and **** like that. oh yeah it was cool when john and ally started talking at the same time about a good tackle and john says "wasn't it ally?" - i thought the commentary has improved as much as it could in a year.

i don't reckon you can judge the AI defense yet because we don't know what difficulty it was (i suspect amateur) - of course they are not going to close you down if it is amateur. the dribbling looks better cos it looks more penetrating and is actually useful (in fifa03 they just always tackle you). its also good how when you tackle you don't win the ball outright - that's pretty realistic. finally the player animations were awesome and the crowd was good how it got louder towards the end. i'm not sure about the shooting though, but we'll wait to see if it improves or maybe i should just see more of it.

oh yeah the AI attack looked pretty good for amateur it did some nice through balls and would've got 2 goals if it was not amateur cos the players wouldn't have just jogged with ball in the penalty area they would have actually shot for goal!
