If YOU think the FIFA 2004 Demo is awful, think again

I've downloaded the FIFA 2004 Demo and let me tell you now, it is a superb game as far as I am concerned. The gameplay is so realistic and the atmosphere has improved from last year. I love the volleys I can easily play now and love the way the game is played. The new cinematics are much better than last year and I am really looking forward to playing the game! If you think it's dross, think again, play it again, then you may get the right answer.

Atmosphere?? There's more atmosphere on the planet Mercury!

Seriously though, wait for the retail version- there'll be plenty of 'atmoshere' then!
I agree about the gameplay mate- much improved since FIFA 2003!
I've uninstalled the demo now- I want the game to be 'fresh' when I buy it!

The game is not the best in the market..because we all know who is the best. But is not bad though. Ill play it

Agreeing with machiavllian here. The crowd chants and commentary should contribute a lot more to the atmosphere.

Maybe ur right at some pts but definitly the demo showed how bad is the ball physics this year (especially the ball speed )it reacts to every thing just great but when it comes to shooting, passing it some how gets over accelerated

also the new power bar are very bad as u can't feel how long will the ball go:f***:

THE MOST IMPORTANT PROBLEM I'VE SEEN is the KEEPERS , they seem to be some how copied from old 2002 ones they react strangly to shoots that most of the shoots out side the penalty area go in even if it's in the keeper's reach (he just jumps in the air with out even touching the ball, this sux:kader: :kader: )

MAN!!! At corners the goalie look the other way and the players even doesn´t look at the ball. Dribllings is faaar less then I exspected. It sucks but it is still good on a strange way. I think Fifa 2003 was better!

On the whole I agree with you , but a few deatils need adjusting the walking pace needs adjusting up a tad to move of a light run I mean if you want to stop and look for a pass you can anyway and with the trick moves of standing on the ball to and rolling it under foot to create space for a pass are there too. I would liked to have seen a the sprint button do two things with a single press take from a light run to short burst that was enought to take you arond the keeper and whoever else you wished to pass and with the same button held down a full burst of sprint to take you runs down the wing or in the middle away from defenders. As it is at the moment its ok .. but you can't get by defenders or anyone else with walking pace and control is not to great when you hit sprint as you have to, to get by the defence or a run in midfield ( in fact during the sprint can you change direction??? never used to). That is why I would have liked the d-pad or analog stick movement a bit faster. Second the shot power ( don't get me wrong its a wonder some of you living near glasgow didn't hear the screams of "Pick It Out" when I've hit some real rip-snorters from 25-30yrds, oooh baby !! but I guess that the power of the shots should be turned down just a little I guess some players can it 80-90mph shots and even the ones with weaker shots can if the ball is struck just right can do it now and again too. But i have hit these shots from the 1st min to the 90th min with the same player even though his energy bar is down, but then again even in the 90th min after a draining game some players still can hit the odd rocket shot. I guess its just a matter of finding a balance, you don't want to depend on a run though the middle 40yrds from goal and pressing the shoot button and getting a winner. Ive done it in the demo and from over 35yrds it was a cracker a bit annoying for the person your playing against. I guess so far most of my goals have been from 20 to 35yrds some headers and a couple of streaching toe poke as the keeper is bearing down on you. Those couple of things apart its looking good.

man whats up with these shoots from way outside the box that goes a million miles per hour and most of them seem to go in. I hate that crap, Eventho the demo was ok im still goin to get the game cuz i live in the usa and those retards from konami aint releasing wining eleven in the usa til march 2004 what a bunch of co'cksuckers. I was really looking forward to playing WE7 but i have to wait til next year. But about that long distance goal crap thats gonna suck becuz as soon as i get fifa2004 and brother finds it out hes gonna shoot 10 billion times from outside the box and of course most of them gonna go in!! I HATE YOU EA!! fix this fu'cking crap you give us

the ball physics are great.. it bounces around. it slows down after bounces.. it will bounce your defender to give up a corner kick.. the shots may seem a bit too hard sometimes.. but thats the only thing...

about the power bar.. I think they are great.. they work fine for me.. and it doesnt take the 5 secs waiting for the animation to get a shot off..

OK. like every EA game, is has its faults.... ok some weird ball physycs, the dribbles are not that good...like the guy said before....i can walk with the ball,,but the sprinting after that is not that fastto surprise someone.

ok,,this things maybe could bother the game somthing...not to make it a ****........but the real REAL problem are the super shots outside the area.

It will be a nightmare when people start to shoot like crazy and keep scoring. Myslef...im a bleiever in the long shots,,,and rarely i enter the smal keeper zone to score. I use mainly long shots and crosses.

What i want to point out is thatr im afraid of myself...mastering this crazy shots and scoring in every attempt ..will definitely not be good...and IMO this is the real threat of fifa 2004. If all the goals can be score so easily...the game will be a failure. Why bother with tactics and off the ball and freestyle..when with a sole rocket missile of 40 yrad you can do wonders!!!:(

Ok,ok...that's about enough

If I read ONE MORE "it's not realistic enough" post about this game, I'm going to lose it!

If it's flippin realism you want, get off your fat asses - buy a pair of Adidas Supernova Boots, get some shin guards and a mouth piece and JOIN A F***ING REC LEAGUE!

But if it's a fun, good looking SIMULATION, then buy FIFA 2004! Enjoy it for what it is, a VIDEO GAME. NOT real soccer. So what if the damn keepers aren't looking at the ball on a corner kick. So what if you can't smell Ronaldo's BO or feel Alpay's finger hit your cheek, just buy the game and enjoy it.

I'm all for improvements but to trash a game for it's "lack of realism" is silly.

The Demo is fine. The game will be 1000 times better than 2003. And we'll all go out and buy it.

I'm loving the demo as well.. while there's still much more room for improvement i think that EA finally have some solid foundation to build on..

one thing i noticed was it's impossible to do anything with the ball when Legrottaglie has it :p ... which may well mean that it will be much harder to play with small teams this time.. which is good :rockman:

Is this it?

I hoped for dribblings grat passes. Awesome graphic. Is this what I have been waiting for?

Ok. Cool gameplay, cool first touches, coool movements by the goalie. But this is not good. Fifa 2002 is better than this!

The pitch is a bit small. Maybe beacuse it is a demo. OK it is a demo but this is really really bad.

the goals are so small. The corners are stupid. The powerbar. Is this a joke?

Just compare Fifa 2004 and 2003 screenshots man. Fifa 2003 looks much better. The speed there. The dribbles. From slow to a superb speedy counterattack. You could turn to the other side of the pitch in a sec. Here it takes 4 seconds to make the player turn to the other way. I am so dissapointed man.

Is it only me? Why do you like the game? what in the game makes you like it? I can´t see nothing I think.. Please write your opinion. I think I still will buy fifa 2004 but maybe I will buy PES3 to or test fifa at my friends or something cause this doesn´t semm worthy.

if WE/PES had all the licenses and all the clubs and stadiums fifa has, no1 would be buying this piece of crap (fifa 04).
im not buying this game, ill rent [edited warez]
p.s.
EA get a hint, its not about real clubs and how much stadiums you got in the game, its all about the GAMEPLAY. its nice to have as much teams as possible and as much stadiums as possible but first you gotta work on your gameplay. why do we want 20 stadiums if the goals arent even the right size and the nets dont even move? why do we want a perfect ronaldo face when in real life he or anybody else cant hit the ball that hard?

I agree there. Fifa have a better repution beacuse of all the license, teams, tournaments and real player names and looks.

If PES had that 100% Fifa would´t be close of it

judging from what i've read so far, the ball still seems to move at 100 km/hr :kader:
