If EA spend one more year on FIFA

I think one year to make a FIFA game is too short. The designers have not enough time to make a complete game. So each FIFA game will has both improvements and bugs. For example, the gameplay in FIFA 2004 made a remarkable progress but the players data and faces are not good, and there are many bugs. It seems a unfinished game.

If EA releases a FIFA game each two years. They can have enough time to improve the game system and then fix the bugs caused from the system. The game will be perfect.

What's your opinion ?

2 years is a bit long, transfer market update, club jersey update and relagated promoted club for each league, new and young player, lisence and etc will cause a lots of problems for EA.....around 1 and half year should be acceptable. release at the next mid season should be better and enough time for them

Because EA is a US company and they listen to their own fans. American Football is very important in.. uhh.... America. "Soccer" is not as important therefore we get a neglected game.

they should work 5 years on making a gameplay and AI for their game, which at least can concurrent with ISSProEVo2 on the PSX (still cannot imagine such a game from ea...) .. the rosters, teams, players and all the other texture things are not necessary at all!

they should start developing the new game as soon as it is released or as soon as a month that the game is released... they should read msg boards and fix the problems...if they do this we will have a wonderful coming next year..peace

5 years? you thought FIFA is World Cup? 4 years once? EA is a company, if they release 1 game in 5 years, they should close their company, no matter how, profit still the first options

EA SPORTS has ENOUGH other games (like NHL,NBA,NFL,Nascar,Golf.............) to protect their company for a few years from being closed!!
5 years is a bit over by me but i wanted to say that they must concentrate only on gameplay not on beckhams hair or ronaldos celebration!!! importing the kits, the teams and the players shouldnt take longer than the half of production time!! the most important thing in a football- game is STILL the gameplay i think - so should ea think, too !!!!!!!!!!!! ;)

IMO fifa 2005 shouldnt be released and instead ea should work for fifa 2006 all the time (2 years) and make a damn football simulation, that can really be a concurrent to the games from konami!!! (H)

i can also be satisfied with a game, that has a great gameplay but not all the licenses and a wrong beckham hair-model!! i dont need such things, what i need most from ea is, to have a game, which makes really fun while playing it and not a game, which becomes boring after 5 matches!!!! like fifa2004 -- its horrible :kader:

madden vs. fifa

Keep in mind that the NFL only has 32 teams but FIFA 2004 has hundreds of teams. They have to research and rate thousands of soccer players from around the world. The NFL has an amazing amount of statistics that can be crunched to allow EA to more accurately rate american football players. It's the same with baseball, basketball and hockey. Fewer teams in a league leads to more accurate ratings. If EA decided to do Champions League only or UEFA Cup it might be a more accurate soccer game, but personally I like having so many teams and leagues to play with.
Remember...it's just a video game that you sit on your butt to play.

A year is more than enuff if you dont have to design a whole new engine... But thats the thing, EA should really design a whole new engine, the game will benefit from it.

American football vs Football

i've played NCAAA football 2003 and I was shocked with the quality. Then I asked myself why can EA produce such a great game but they suck in world football? IMO, American football is easier to design than football considering they focus on formation and play. Everytime you pass/run the ball, the play is pre-determined. But think of football, it is a free flow game even if the formation is fixed.....nobody's gonna cover the same zone/run the same way thru out the 90min. It is just too unpredictable for football. But anyway, I don't have the answer why EA produces so many bugs that seem so simple to get rid of. Do you?

LucianoJJ - March Madness 2004 has 320 teams in it, and that's not too shabby of a game compared to FIFA. Also, what they tend to do (or at least from what I've seen with a good company, SI Games, who makes the CM series) is have one or more people scout a region, and those people are responsible for the information that goes into a game. That's why, for example, the CM series is so good and has such a deep system. They have information on every player from every league that they use in the game (something absurd like 20+ nations).

EA could do it, they're just either a) too lazy b) don't care or c) have the best team of programmers and game developers that they can find, and they still suck.
