Been using i68Controller for a while now and have had no problems.

Sorry if this has been answered somewhere already...

But once I Installed the ModdingWay Update, then tried to (Regenerate) with the i68Controller Tool, my game wont load anymore.

Is the i68Controller not compatible with ModdingWay?

Absolutely yes.
I run it, on MW, every day.
Your problem is not the regeneration.

Pretty obvious the Moddingway update is the issue. You can go back to your last saved files, make sure it regenerates correctly. Then try reinstalling the update to see if that fixes things. You have to trouble shoot to find the solution.

Iv'e tried what you have suggested mate, but still no joy.

It's definitely ModdingWay as you said, because when I tried with a previous back-up I had without ModdingWay... but only the Rev-Mod Installed, it works no problem.

Head scratcher this one.

With the passing of time,
I learned that everyone has their own truth...

but, supported by hundreds, if not thousands, of operations,
I can say that:

I never had problems editing the MW db.
It works with DBMaster, with the CM
and, perfectly, with i68Creations tools.


If someone experiences problems with these tools and mw mod,
it is because his game configuration is corrupt,
or it is not standard or original.
And that does not mean it does not work the same!

Funny that I've been editing dbs since 2012. I have NEVER had a single issue editing my dbs, or Fidel's dbs. My files aren't corrupt, they work perfectly. And I know how to use the tools. But every moddingway db I have tried to edit, either won't open or won't save data.

There is something moddingway does to the db that causes it to have issues with many peoples' games. That is the simple truth. Otherwise, why is FifaStorys having an issue?

I'm editing dbs since 2005
and I'm really sure that
MW dbs are editable with Rinaldo's tools and mine.

I think that you and others who have problems,
be used to do some task, some step (uncommon, that others do not)
that makes your configuration working ingame
but not compatible with tools anymore.
There is definitely a reason,
It is not easy to find, but there is.

I believe that if, on a fresh installation of the game,
you try to manually extract the
\DATA\SCENEASSETS
\DATA\LOCAL
\DATA\DB
paths of the ModdingWay Mod,

then regenerate with the REGENERATOR

the game will run in match start mode
and you will have no problems using DBMaster
and the SCRIPTER commands
(with i68Controller properly initialized).

Maybe I'm wrong, but I doubt.

Same here.

@bangus: the problems you had are definitely not due to sloppy editing as Ariel is undoubtedly the best patchmaker out there, but more likely to peculiarities that were introduced to go beyond the boundaries of the game (like extending the limit of leagues and whatnot).

Yeah mate, I'm able to open the MiddingWay db no problem with CM16.

I was able to move Rangers from the (Other Leagues) section into the Scottish Premiership, then Regenerate the BH.

Tbh probably my main reason for utilising MW this year as I wanted to play the SPL with Rangers, and unfortunately Fifa 16 never added them in.

Otherwise I agree with what you said about the slippery editing... Normally I tend to just copy ModdingWay's up to date files/folders from their (Sceneassets) folder and add them to my own, then Regenerate with i68-Controller.

If I knew of other way's how to just add Rangers to my game from their db, I probably wouldn't bother running MW Installer. That said... I haven't had any problems with MW at the moment, the game is running well without any noticeable bugs or issues.

Just the i68-Controller issue with it is a mystery. Again, i68-Cntroller works no problem without MW using the Rev Mod etc, so I don't know lol.

It's also the full game bought through Origin.

Name is an instance of the Commentarynames table

FYI, there are "star specific" commentary sound files for many players. Announcers say "Lionel Messi" and "Cristiano Ronaldo." There are also many secondary commentary-specific comments for these players, comments that both announcers talk about about and discuss. SetPlayerCommentaryName will no doubt work for players with names like "Smith," because "Smith" or "It's Smith" is all either commentator ever says. Not sure it will work though for name IDs like Messi and Ronaldo. If you have a player named "Carlos Messi" and you then assign him Messi's commentary ID, you'll probably hear "Lionel Messi" a lot of the time.

Yes, it works exclusively for the comments already existing,
in the commentary names table.

NB.
a Messi's sound, id 925315,
is assigned to the playername id 15315 (messi),
used by Lionel only.
So I think that my joke will go, sometimes at least!
