just wondering..

I'm not planning on buying this game, BUT I was wondering on what the major differences are on the SIMULATION and ARCADE modes of the game?
Or even, if those selections exist.!

Nov 5...

The EA Sports site says it will be released in November, and I've also seen on a couple of online game stores that say it will be released on the 5th. I guess it could be wrong but it seems believable to me.

Game Stores

Mike I share your frustration, I am going into York today (2 Game shops) and to know there are all those copies of FIFA 2003 but that they are not for sale! Could you post your opinions of PES2 and elaborate on why it is not as much fun as FIFA 2003. Thanks.:clapwap:

My store is in North Hampshire, and unfortunately we are not one of the bigger stores so we haven't as yet got an X-Box promo.
At the moment, the only version we have is the PS2, we'll be expecting the others in around next Wednesday.
To be honest, I got frustrated with the AI on the pro evo games, the com would often just barge my players over, or pull off tricks that I can't! FIFA 2003 is hard to beat (on Semi Pro) but in a way that you don't feel you're being cheated, added to the dynamic camera modes, that are even better than the "ball cam" circa 98 and it just makes it better to play IMO add all the FIFA bells and whistles, and FIFA 2003 I think, is better for me. I realise that Pro Evo 2 has it's merits but all round I'm gonna go with FIFA.
On the subject of PES2, the movement is more fluid, and the players look more like ISS2's now - it's a great game but I've heard the rosters haven't been updated + it doesn't have FIFA's range of teams. (and being a sucker for detail, that's not a good thing!!)

Incidentally there is a choice between Simulation and action in FIFA2003, but I've only played it on Simulation mode.

I would imagine that your local GAME (UK) stores would now have it (or will get it tomorrow), so ask em for a quick peek!

As for the US date, I'm afraid I can't help, sorry.

Mike.

I'll have to ask for a go then. But with the game coming out this friday for the PS2, I bet they'll put it on display for everyone to play, as they will want to sell it. They should put both PES2 and FIFA 2003 on display next to each other, that way everyone's happy and doesn't get an un-biased opinion of the games, if they play them then and there!

ummmmm Ahhhhh you prefer Fifa 2003 over PES 2, well you obviously don't know the first think about football ;)

Don't let the PES fanboys hear you say that.....lol

I heard the PES 2 version actually throws up pieces of turf in your face when you do a slide tackle, and using force feedback hits u in the nuts if your teams wall gets hit during a free kick, now that's realism :crazyboy:

I'll tell you what though, if we did do Nick's idea at GAME we'd end up with riots judging by what happens on this board!!

Marketing my friend. Europe is the main target audience for football and PES2 is coming out sooner then expected, so EA want to put up a fight. :rockman:
