just played PES in xbox 360 and it is a little different from previous year.
It has bad graphics and the gameplay is unrealistic combared with a real football.

PES08 is a great ARCADE game for people who want to score easy,Tribble easy with one move and score with 3-5 passes.

FIFA 08 is the ONLY simulation football game and it is far away from PES08 in gameplay (animation too) and graphics

Haha, absolutely with you in this one mate! :)

I was about to start a thread giving the same wording of this FIFA 08 and PES 2008 war.

I played the demo yesterday, and it was such a huge relief to see that FIFA 08 is a total winner this year.

I can never compare them in anyway! PES is OLD, FIFA is new. as simple as that. :)

It's not good thing, well financial wise it's. But there is things which are better in PES and it would have been nice thing to have two good football games, not just one. I think corners are better(at least you can assign who to get up) in PES and some gestures, etc.

But otherwise it's sadly disappointment. Fact is FIFA is really good, but there is still some issues and hopefully those will be sorted out. Personally I would like to see next year you could assign your special teams more. Like "player X will block goalkeeper and player Y will run from deep" etc. Maybe they could copy that from NHL 08;)

Anyway I played fifa for a years, I've tested the demoS and I still like more PES (bad rep... 3, 2, 1...)

FIFA this year is much better than PES.

its sucks that you have to pay to go online with xbox 360. i have an xbox 360 (and PS3) and wanted to try this demo but cant cause i dont got xbox live :(

Wasn't that the argument used by pes 'boys' to criticize fifa players?

Anyway, I don't think PES is arcadish, as probably you neither think that for Fifa, it's thing of likings, and as I sayed, I like a lot more PES and I've played all fifas since Sega Genesis FIFA 97 Gold Edition :p to FIFA 07

Meh, although I don;t see the point in buying FIFA 08 for PC, I will still try out PES2008. PES2007 left a good impression on me, so I'd like to see how PES2008 faires. It will come out for PC (the demo) early next week, so...YAY!

IMO, PES2008 will be the best for PC. I don't think Konami has really grasped the true power of the 360 and PS3 like EA has, so I think the PC will have the most sales.

I will also say this: FIFA 08 for next-gen looks FANTASTIC, however it's not the same as having it on PC because you can't edit the database :(

Nick, trust me mate on this one, the problem in PES 2008 is not the animation only, no, no, it's almost everything. I like some new additions such as in-game seamless player reactions, a.k.a cut scenes in FIFA 08, and... that's about it!

You'll feel so disgusted man! I can't even explain it! lol

What shuck me is how all this time many people were talking about PES 2008 like if it was "the" game of the year or something, and after playing the demo, I laughed! I laughed very hard, then went to the bathroom and puked for about 2 hours!

Nick, don't try comparing FIFA 08 next gen with PES 2008, use that useful time in better stuff. lol

Try it, but I'm not responsible of any subsequences. :p

Nah just kidding. It seems strange. How can the gameplay seem so fast? In the vids at Leipzig the gameplay seemed vary fluent and natural. Does the demo play like the one in the videos?

i am so huppy from XBOX 360 FIFA 2008 game. i am feeling like watching a real match on TV.
it has realistic animations,shots,controls,heads,tribbles,fouls,corners.mistakes of players,and realistic GK saves. (if GK cant see offensive that shot couse many players ahead him, he cant see the ball!)

Very nice graphics,textures,details on uniforms and faces. wonderfull AI (you cant tribble so easy a defender like PES).

What else do i need from a football game?This is the first year i am in love with a football game

Noo, I actually puked because of the fish meal I ate. :p kidding, it was becasue of PES. Man, the problem with the animation is that players' physics where fast but the ball had slower pace, forcing the actions and over all game speed to become slower, but it can't feel natural! it's like superman throwing a bus with all his power but the bus flying at 1 KM per hour! doesn't make sense or feel right.

Easy there chicken nugget, we are talking about games, not religion. some games are ugly (PES), some are really good (FIFA 08).

Sorry for the fanboy-ism, had to do it, I'm happy for EA & FIFA 08. :)
