I was just about to buy the game since I tried it and I admit I keen on the first touch feature. But then again after I visited this forum again, in two freakin` days people are already talkin` about lots of anoyin` bugs, eg. no subs by the CPU, a red carded player in simulation can still be found in the pitch playin` if we interfere the simulation, defense that sits their asses back all the time, and the most retarded of all, a goallie scored a goal all the way from the back with a throw I have no idea how many bugs will come later . . .

The SG hands on preview ( sorry ) is so full of **** . . . You gave this game a 9.5 ratings, pages of kiss-ass reviews about how ****in` great this game is. How many hours have you played it before deciding to write a review ? If only you have spent at least 5 hours you would`ve spot the bugs and tell us. You didn`t tell the obvious visible bugs like the no subs by the CPU, how come is that ? How come noone form the reviewer spotted it ? I believe you noticed it but decided not to write about it for whatever reason . . .

I don`t care how many bash I will get because I write this, I just don`t like the fact that some obvious bugs aren`t written in the review, I don`t even get what`s the purpose of hiding it, sooner or later someone here will tell it, and thank God people other than the SG reviewer have finally spoke the truth before I buy the game.

I don't have the game yet cos' it comes out on Thursday here in Germany but I can tell you that in the original EA ini big,the following options are ALWAYS disabled ( CPU's subs and CPU's players attributes ).
I guess the reason why they do that, is to make the same strenght for every team when you play online.
The first thing I always do when I get the game is to activate these options ( PC version of course )
Concerning the other bugs , the best way is to test them yourself. relying on other guys comments is always pointless IMO.
Cause everyone plays differently and expect different things from the game.
One thing I know for sure, is that EVERY Fifa game I have played makes sense to play when it is enhanced with lot of patches and a decent external Creation Center
I always begin to really appreciate the game around March, April when it is fully customed the way I want
Anyway, keep on making kits. I need them

do not blame sg preview for this. they certainly not having the full game to stick around for few days. those bugs and error are we found out after we play the games for few days. generally the game is good just some common error that we not expected in the game, eg: no sub are repeated by EA. thats terrible

Come on people, i played the demo many times and i loved, i couldn't understand the bashs some people made to the game. When i started to see some reviews of the full game i became a little concerned but now that i have it i only can say i love it even more than the demo. This takes me to the opinion that some people should play more than they talk, sometimes is pure bashing. Don't buy a game by what people say, buy if you like and if you like the demo you'll love the full one. Only your opinion counts, it's not other people that would feel if you enjoy or not...

Hans, I wrote that preview... yes - preview.

Firstly, did I give it a 9.5 score?

Secondly, at the time I played the game for around 3 hours because I had to play it at EA. Hence the date of the preview - FIFA wasn't even released then.

Secondly, how often do you hear previews talking about the negative stuff? My preview was mainly about career mode and the features wasn't it?

I steered away from talking about gameplay and such because people could decide for themselves through the demo. Then, if they liked the game they could check out the preview. If they didn't like the demo then why would you bother reading about the features and career mode?

All I did is give as good a preview as I could have possibly done. I went there in my own time and wrote it in my own time. It's sad to see that people like you are there to criticise when all I've done is try to help out the community. There are some people who actually like FIFA though and at least they appreciated the preview.

You seem hell-bent on criticising me you can't even get your facts write. Think before next time you post criticising someone like this.

BTW, I will have a review shortly, which will talk about the bad AND good points of the game. And whatever score I give it will be what I think it deserves, not what people want me to give it.

The CPU do make subs. I've heard it a couple of times when I've made a sub...the commentator says something like "and both sides changes things around".

Thinking doesn't come natural to a lot of people AndrewC.

He makes a comment about obvious bugs, yet makes a point of saying earlier on how he doesn't believe that the score is fair because the reviewers didn't play it long enough to see the bugs.

It is that kind of lack of consistency, coupled with the multitude of anti EA posts which he has posted in the past which invalidates everything he says. There are a number of people on these forums who don't even give a game a proper chance.

I have played FIFA 05 for countless hours, the demo and the real now, and I have not yet once scored as the keeper, or kept 100% possession by passing around the defence. THough I have tried.

I`m sorry if anyone feel that I bash at him. Andrew, I have no intention at all bashing you or your preview. I was just feelin` dissapointed by the fact that there are still too many stupid bugs in the actual game. You`ve said it yourself you`ve played the full version before writing the previews, I was just somewhat confused by the fact that you didn`t mention any bugs. And I have no idea that you can`t write negative aspects on a preview. I`ve read many games previews before and I believe some of `em include the negative aspects.

And someone please tell me that FIFA 2005 allows dinamic strategy changing, cos` for me it seems the defense are way too defensive. They don`t go upfront while we are attacking, and I`m an offensive minded guy . . .

AndrewC. in your review, can you stated as details as you on those possible bugs and error that EA make? i hope other people will interesting to know what bugs actually have in the game. i play it couple of days and i hope to write a review too. just....i'm so lazy

Didn`t I just said I tried the game ( PS2 ) and like the first touch ? And in case you didn`t notice in "the other game" forum where they keep bashin` the first touch, I was probably the only one who thinks it has the full potential to become a great unique feature ? I hope that these mentioned bugs are in the the PC version not the consoles versions.

And who the hell are you to judge me as anti-EA ? I`ve contributed my work for EA`s largest community for two years and still will be doing so wheter I buy the game or not.

Have you noticed bugs or have you just read about them?

When you play a game it's natural to look for positives in it than negatives. There would be no point to playing games if we just tried to spot bugs within the first 3 hours of playing it.

If you play 3 hours of a game it is difficult to notice bugs. It's easy to notice bugs if someone posts a list on a message board, but noticing them yourself in 3 hours of playing the game is a different story. You said it yourself as well that you've noticed them through a list that has been posted. You should play the game ignorant of any bugs before judging it. To me the only bugs in the game are the ones I notice myself.

And yes, your first post is obviously rushed. So rushed in fact it does seem like you are bashing me and SG.

To get an explanation why some obvious bugs weren`t mentioned . . . I mean a CPU which doesn`t make any subs is pretty obvious right ? Especially after playin` three or four games . . .

The bug I notice is the one I stated above . . . About why it seems that there`s too much gap between the defence and the midfield whenever I attack ? Why don`t the defense go up the halfway line like in real life football ? Everytime I attack it seems like they never supported my attack. They only stand there at about ten meters from the penalty area and just runnin` around . . .

HANS just dont buy the game easy as that.. I bought the game becuase i like it i dont see any bugss... only one but its fixed.. No refree on the field.. Theres a patch for that... But everything eles is pretty good

If the bugs are only happen in PC and there`s a dinamic strategy adjustment so I can push my defenders more aggresive, I will be buyin` this **** for PS2. The first touch is a good new feature which I hope won`t be taken away in 2006. EA should improve it. With first touch, the variety of goals that can be scored is endless. I`ve tried the feature many times in front of goals, and unlike in previous FIFAs I`ve scored goals with different type of finishing.

The bug with first touch is, that it seems every player on the field regardless their real-life technical ability can do a brilliant first touch like Zidane. That`s why I never use first touch whenever I pass to an average player. I want some player to have poor first touch, I mean really poor that it might cause a blunder. Like for example, give Wes Brown or Silvestre a poor first touch, cos` that`s what they do in real life.

I don`t mind not havin` a referee visible, sometimes that SOB use simillar kit colour with one of the team and confuses me. As long as he make the right call, I ain`t havin` problem . . .

Just got the game for free hehe and my first impression is a good one I must say! No bugs found and i played for a few hours. Furthermore I like the details ingame, the way a player takes on a ball and plays it along, the green or red nets (depending on the team) in the game. The crowd looks better imo.
Can't wait for cc2005, Kitraptor etc to make it even better and I can start making ss again for you guys!

BTW Hans if you want to play offensive play with Ajax

Unfortunately I haven't yet got the full game, but I could swear there are substitutions made by the CPU. They just don't have cutscenes and you tend not to notice them. I’m sure I did recall a commentator saying something about a substitution so I thought they are there.

As I said before, my preview did not focus on gameplay. I agree with the gap between midfield and attack. That is a bug I have noticed in FIFA for a while now. You will hear the bug in my review if I do notice that when I play more of the full version. There are other gameplay bugs that I have saved for mentioning in my review. I can't pack it all in a preview to try and keep everyone happy.

I think I paid more attention to the game at least than you paid attention to my preview. I never said 9.5… I never focused on gameplay and made a point of that in the intro. Pay more attention before you start to even have a go at me.
