its a test kids take in the states, basically you take it if your not going to an out of state college

Uh........... no. Most schools accept either the SAT or the ACT and give you the option of taking either. Some prefer one over the other, and some don't use either.

And stop whining, I had to wake up at like 6:30, drive 40 minutes to my test site, and take the LSATs, which clocked in at a solid 6 hours. It's also needless to say a little tougher than that ACT........

There has been a sharp increase in the subscription prices of many accounting school text books in the past five years. Many publishers ascribe the necessity for these increases to the easy availability of electronic books, which enable people simply to electronically copy the books they want rather than buying the printed text.

Which of the following, if true, would make this explanation more plausible?

A) The great majority of student texts have a massive backlog awaiting publication.

B) Over the past five years there has been a substantial decline in the number of accounting school students, while electronic books have remained fairly stable.

C) In the five years immediately preceding the price surge, there was a substantial decline in the number accounting school students requiring text books, while electronic book subscriptions remained fairly stable.

D) Many electronic publishers have recently begun cutting back on subscriptions accounting school text books.

E) In almost every publishing company, there has been an increase in the number of accounting school texts available in the past few years.

If this took you more than a minute to do, you are probably in over your head.

The Act test, do you just tick a box for your answer in those ones? In Ireland we have to write essays and show all our maths work in our state exams. How do the American tests differ?

I have finals every year on my birthday, without fail. That means no celebrating, no going out with friends, who are all buried in books, and spending most every birthday since 18 in the bowels of the library

If youre complaining about the ACT now, its likely to only get worse, until your doing the stuff Shifty posted

I was sitting an AS level exam on my birthday this year. I also had one the day after.
Slightly buggered up any celebration.

i'm worried about the math and science i'm horrible in those subjects plus i have to take this graduation test this year (everyone takes it) if you pass it you can graudate highschool. but i'm only a sophmore so if i fail i can still take it again. i'm only doing the act so i can go take a couple classes at the local college plus i get highschool and college credit so its pretty cool

The ACT isn't too bad if you know what to expect.

I only took it once and I got a 25, no sweat.

English - 30
Math - 30
Science - 21
Reading - 20

The science part is all about reading graphs of experiments and interpreting the information. It doesn't really test your knowledge when it comes to science.

The math part is pretty basic stuff, but I know a lot of people have a hard time with it.

I don't know why, but I hated the science reasoning part and it ****ed up my whole ACT. Not that it matters because I wasn't going anywhere else to school. I would almost like to take it now just because I think I would ace it.
