I can change the ballnames

Hello all,
It's very difficult to change the names of the balls, but it's possible. Look at the picture. Here I've changed a ball name.

use dkzstudio to change the names

Open a x_text.file
find and highlight mode_select_?.str (I don't know what you have on ? place, i"ve got e)
Choose tools and STR editor
find block ID: &H5EA0 (but I'm not sure it doesn't change, 10th from bottom for sure)
find a ball name, ie roteiro and highlight
in a text, at the top, change ball name on anyone you want and click 'change line text'
Click 'save'
and thats all

After doing this i just noticed that in the cup/league games the ball names go back to the orginal ones, so i was looking in the text file and found the "lcm.str" file had the old ball names in "&H16500" (its 20 up from the bottom in lcm.str) and the file "mc.str" in "&H40",
if you change these as well the the new ball names come in everything
You will have to save the picture below to your desktop and view in paint to see it more clearly

i don't get what you mean?
make sure you are opening the str file, look at the picture below (save it to your desktop and open it in paint, or use the expand to regular size button)

For those using my new 0_text.afs or who have d/l the 2005 Evolution patch, I've made a new e_text.afs which has the correct names of the balls in the menus. Check the main forum.

Same here. Is there something I do wrong? I change the name, press "change text line" and then "save" button but the game won't load after that.
