How To View and Edit Opposition Lineups Pre-Game

ALAN_SHEARER

I usually play custom tournaments in FIFA and have only now found enough time to get a game in or two just recently.

I have all the teams within the tournament set to playable depending on who I want to play as in a particular fixture etc...

Now to start with I had a Dortmund vs Arsenal and I could only access Dortmund's team sheets pre-game as they were the home game...How the heck can I access Arsenals team settings so that I can set them up to a more realistic lineup...?

It seems it only is allowing me to edit the home team each fixture...Is there a way around this...?

You can only access one team once you choose to play next match, yes. You have to edit your teams and set lineups before choosing to play next match. Not sure what issues you're seeing but the CPU will generally play the players with the highest ratings. Sometimes it will sub in a high-rated MF for a lower-rated ST, those things drive me nuts. So I spend a lot of time editing my db before I play any leagues or cups. I either lower/raise player ratings or send players to the free agent pool that I don't want to see play on a particular team. That's about the only way to guarantee a particular teams' lineup will look somewhat realistic when you play against them in a tourney.

Opposition almost never use their best goalkeeper against me, so stupid.
Yeah, that's a bad bug, heard about it. Couple of solutions to try:

1. Edit the backup GKs on all teams so their overall = the overall of the starting GK. That way it doesn't matter who starts, they're both rated the same.

2. Insert the backup GK in the starting lineup and see if the CPU switches him out for the starting GK on the bench. If not, try raising the backup's overall so it's higher than the starting GK's overall, and see if that forces the CPU to switch him out. Could be the programming bug is looking for the lower-rated GK to play.

Good workaround for cups and tourneys, not meant for career mode obviously.

EDIT: I just started a test league/season and the first two games, the CPU played their starting GK and not their backup. Doesn't sound like it's an issue in league/cup play after all.
