how to tackle in PES3 ??

used to play a lot of Fifa...so tackle is very effective..

however, I realised in PES3, there's no tackle in the configuration of the keyboard or gamepad!

but I can see my opponent tackling my ball away so easily...

where's the tackle ??

do you mean Pressure ? I know there's a button for sliding, but it's the worst slide I have ever seen in a soccer game..

U needa know how to pressure players.. You can hold on to the pressure button and u're player will 'home' on the opposition. But u needa release it at certain times otherwise u're player will lose his balance easily. Practice..

It's the worst because you actually have to time it accurately now eh? But the ref is pretty screwed up at times, waiting for the real game to find a soft ref and gonna use him.

The best way to tackle is to walk (or run) into the ball, the rest is automatic . If you run into the ball carrier it will be a foul sometimes. There really isint a tackle move exept for slide tackle.

press and hold (x) while chasing/approaching the ball holder... press and hold R1/R2 simultaneously to dispossess... it needs good timing...

BTW, playing FIFA for such a long time you should know what a really bad slide tackle looks (and sounds) like.

Cool new system. Finally I dont have to just walk up to someone and press a button to dispossess him, or watch him burst past me.

the (x) button does exactly what the circle (or is it square?) button in FIFA does. it makes the player struggle with the ball holder trying to dispossess him. this doesn't always work of course, as players have different strengths, and it needs appropriate timing. you need to keep (x) PRESSED while you chase or follow the ball holder.

if that fails you can press square and pull up another defender to help you (same as FIFA 2004 R2).

it all needs excercise. in the beginning you will "overshoot" a lot as you press R1 (dash) too often and because PES player reaction is very immediate and not as sluggish as FIFAs. try to approach the ball holder from straight on and press the x button just before contact. when he dribbles around you chase him down by holding R1 and keeping (x) pressed all the time. when you realize that you can't get the ball away that way press R1/R2 at the same time which makes your player "brake away". Select another player (L1) to go for the defence or press square to pull up a defensive aid.

now this all refers to the standard button layout, of course.
