How to play online?

Ok I am sorry if this is a really stupid question...but I have no idea how I can go about playing online? What are the things that need to be done? I dont see any options on the program. Windows XP is my platform if that has anything to do with it.

theres an option in ur game called "multiplayer" where u have several other options :crazyboy:
u can start off with matchup it will take u to a chatroom with many ppl u can play against.. but EA are gonna start charging for it sometime this week i guess.. so either u pay for it or get some pals and start playin some Direct IP games they're much more reliable than crappy matchup
