How To Edit Graphics, Popups??

Please somebody help me here...because I want to make a Skysports patch for FIFA 2003 when I get it (as well as sounds for every premiership team - I created the one on Soccergaming downloads - by Christam1) and also a gameplay patch and more) ). All these patches will be put onto my website, where you will also be able to give me your files to upload onto there too. The patches will be called 'FIFA Evolution' and I'll be uploading my site within a couple of days, then I will post the link on these forums the second I have uploaded it.

So please, someone tell me how to edit these silly .lay files so I (and other people I guess) can edit these popups (inc. scoreboard, timer etc.)
