i always spend my money either on the stadium or on squad strengthening. there is no point in having money in the bank when you could be improving your team with it or using it to improve your stadium which generates even more income
it's easy with those big teams, you can buy cheap players who you know will be good and the value on them goes up after you buy them, keep them for a year or 2 and sell them

check your balance sheets. you will be supprised how much more you make from the stadium than you do from selling on cheap players that you have trained up.
I've checked, but I made more from selling
I went with the rule of selling my most expensive players (4 a year)
kept a couple that I wanted the most, and would buy under 21 natinoals
avg. age was something like 23
you can buy a player, give them like 7.5 to 15 mil after 50 int caps, sell them before they get to 30
got arjen robben, van daart and some others that way, and sold them for over 30 mil each in 2 years, biggest sell was Kluivert for 49 mil after the first season
it got to be too easy I quit =-)

I know what you mean, also find it hard to stay motivated at a club or that size.
