I remember the 1st time I played was in Goal Storm '97 (PSone). :rockman:

I noticed the game from one review (PSM Magazine) that it received a 'golden' soccer game. :)

The first time I played it was in the beggining of the last year I think, the JLeague version of WE U-23 2000, and was amazed with its damn real gameplay..

I knew that these games existed thanks to these forums, thanks god it exists... Now I want everybody else to see the football light just like I did... I´m a Fifa converter here and between my friends, all of them stopped playing Fifa because I introduced them to the beauty of the WE series.. :rockman:

I am now dreaming of getting a PS2 so I could play WE 6 and the editted version of PES2, but it´s too expensive here in Brazil now.. :(

Someday I hope I can get it, damn it would be so good.. Now I only play WE 2000 on my PC with ePSXe.. it is good, if I didn´t have it I would be going nuts.. :crazyboy:

Cheers

Thanks to this forum, I first bought ISSPE1 in July 2001 and dropped my FIFA2001.
Then I got ISSPE2 a few months later.
But then I had to wait a while to get my PS2 "ready" for WE5FE. This was bliss !!! Once I got WE5FE I was completely hooked.
WE6 was even better...especially thanks to the Rhapsody patches

But now I hope WE7 comes out in the US, and hopefully with some authentic leagues, kits, etc along with the already superb gameplay.

Well it all started in 1997 when I got my Nintendo 64. I got this game called International Superstar Soccer 64 which I saw had been getting awesome reviews at the time. When I first got it I was amazed at the graphics and gameplay, they were beyond anything I'd seen in a football game previously. This game had lots of modes including the excellent scenario mode.
In 1998 I saw that International Superstar Soccer 98 had been released on the Nintendo 64 and again it had great reviews. This game is one of the best football games of all time! The presentation is good, the commentary is still the best Ive ever heard in a football game (he doesnt say too much but it NEVER got irritating and was always on topic) and it played just like real football. ISS98 lasted me ages. I never got ISS2000 as it was really an update of ISS98 rather than a true sequel.
Around a year ago I played Pro Evolution Soccer on PS2 and loved it. It was like ISS on the N64 but with better animation, more realistic gameplay and more modes. Well that leads me to now where in a few weeks I'm going to pick up a PlayStation2 with Pro Evolution Soccer 2 which from what I've read (which is A LOT) won't dissappoint.
Since those N64 games I've learnt about the ISSPro games on the PlayStation being the more realistic versions of the N64 games and played ISS on my mate's SNES which was nice to see.

Apart from Quake at work, I was never into games. Then my mate got FIFA 98, I borrowed it and got hooked. I played 99, and 2000. Then I treated myself to a PS2 just to play FIFA 2001. While I was pricing the PS2, some guy said if I waited for 6 weeks, a game is gonna come out to blow all the others away called PES. I said thanks, PS2 and FIFA 2001 please.

After less than a week I was so bored with the game, I went back to the shop and spoke to the guy. I got ISS/PE2 for PSOne as a six week stop-gap until PES came out and gave FIFA to someone.

My mate brought round his PS2 with PES - we played all night, a tounrey between 4 of us. It was so much fun I just bought a PS2 just for PES2 (kept my Xbox for everything else..)
