How about a "SIMS-FIFA" game?

Since most of the people who buy the game for the PC here seems to enjoy editing everything in the game, how about a FIFA game similar to the SIMS. Everything related to football will be included in the game. You can be the owner, the manager, the player, a supporter and or a hooligan. You decide. You can customize the players like what most of guys are doing now with the latest hairstyles, boot colors, accessories, updated faces if they have shaved or not lately. Think about it, not only can you enjoy editing them, you can also live the life of a football player. You go through the daily life of a footballer. Decided whether you wanted to go to training or not after a hard night of clubbing. You decides which models and pop stars to date. You decide what club to join and for how much. Of course you can still play the game, but what is the point. Editing is more fun right. You can also play the supporter. You decide which club you want to support. What the kits should look like and what are the sponsors. Or join a hooligan group. Go to matches and created chaos. Start fight with rivals fans... Enough talk, you guys get the idea. EA, MAKE a FIFA SIMS game now. :rockman:

I see a problem with editing. Ea will never improve the gameplay if all you are doing is making the game bearable with all of the patches. You think you are improving FIFA to compensate for the crappy gameplay. If people stop making patches, then the game will not sell. If it does not sell, EA has no choice but to make it better. I don't have a problem with editing, because I used to do it. Until I see how it has a reverse affect on the improvement of FIFA in the long run. By making patches, people still buy the game regardless of the gameplay because of the patches. Thus contributing to EA's contempt to not improving the gameplay. They might as well make the game like the SIMS, so you guys can have all the fun editing it.

Good idea, but I don't think gamers will agree this suddenly. It's been about like what...8 yrs since Sega Genesis published it the first time until todays with multiplatforms.

I bet EA won't do this after the high sales of FIFA 2003 worldwide. EA want $$$$$ from what they have in the past years.

Erm, don't mean to sound rude, but how much time do you think EA have?

They have a whole year. They don't work on the gameplay anyway. Besides, FIFA fans on the PC care more about editing than playing.

Yes, care more about editing then playing, but that's crap, it's not a good thing and is really saying something ain't it!

"FIFA's gameplay sucks, don't want to play it, I'll just edit it"!

Oh well, I'm not an editor, but I hope EA get their act together with the gameplay!!

I am sorry that some of you don't have the capacity to understand the irony in what I was saying. Just look at the FIFA2003 forum and you will understand. Every other post is about what editing whether it is a player faces, shoes, hair, kits, popups, etc... People spent more time editing than playing the game to enjoy it. So what's the point for EA to make the gameplay better. They might as well make a SIMS FIFA game for the PC so the editing freaks can edit all they want. If FIFA fans do really care about the gameplay, they would have boycott FIFA would stop making any patches and actually discussed the flaws of FIFA. By making patches, they are actually encourgage people to buy FIFA because the patches will make up for the gameplay. The only way EA is going to listen is for FIFA sales to go down.

OK, so no patches mean a lot worse sales?

Then look at the PS2 version of FIFA, they don't have patches....do they have high sales? Yes.

And as for ppl just buying the game to enjoy the patches....very few ppl would actually do that, unless they got money to burn, and if they got money to burn, they will buy the game anyway.

Ive thought of a great idea for fifa 2004.

Players dont just get fatigue in football games but throught the season. For example if you use the same player for 10 games straight, then his performance will go down and he wont play as good.

So in order to have a player with high performance rest him once in a while. Maybe you could have a new stats bar which says performance which is out of 10. 1 been the lowest on performance and 10 been the highest.

Also the fitness stats bar may affect the performance bar. For example the higher the fitness bar is the less chance a player has of getting fatigue. So therefore if a player has a high fitness, he wont get fatigue quickly and his performance stats bar will stay up longer!

This idea is overboard - but turning FIFA into a SWOS type game rather than a SIMs game is better...

Light football Management in the league mode...not Total.
