horrible first touch??!!

why do players have such crappy first touches? it looks like a friggin 8 year old game. that is the one really weak point in gameplay in my opinion...

Maybe its the players, certain players have worse ball control stats than others. Also, dont keep holding the spring button, otherwise the ball will be knocked way in front of your player.

I have to agree, with both.......

Players do have terrible first touches....it's reduced by players that are more skilled, but overall I really think they are worse than they should be.

It's not all the games fault...

Hey Guys,

Firstly yes there can be some terrible first touches but they are really doing what their told quite often...

you see, the first touch is determined by the direction the controller is pointing BEFORE the player gets the ball. Often when they screw up the first touch it's because your've passed up field and keep pointing in that direction until the ball gets to your man- then you turn away but he keeps going up field as you were pointing that way before the ball got to him!!!

My advice (and what I try to do) is when you pass up field always hold the controller away from the opposition players before the ball gets to him (unless it's a through ball). If in doubt point the controller towards your own goal while the ball is passing. This gives you a real build up to your goals as well...
