Well, as much as I hated PES6 and uninstalled it for almost a month, I returned back to it.
After a great deal of playing and learning the new tweaks to the game I have to say it's the best in the series so far. I feel kind of embarrassed at my turn-around but I stand by my opinion that PES5 sucked ass big time! PES6, after you adapt to the changes in gameplay, to me is as pretty close to perfect as you can get on current gen.
I've played the heck out of it this last week and I forgot the emotion that PES/WE gives that FIFA, as good as it gets, just doesn't deliver. FIFA just kind of gives a satisfaction feeling when you score as opposed to downright elation when you hit the back of the net in PES6. FIFA is moving in the right direction but even with all of it's licenses, there's just a lack of passion and feeling at the heart of the game that I just can't describe. Nothing gets me screaming, cussing and punching the air as much as the frustration and joy of PES and as good as FIFA 07 on the XBox360 looked and how smooth it played and all of it's authenticity with licenses, it just didn't make me switch from psycho-mad to lottery-winning happiness that PES does.
Anyway, that's the story. The game is great and another year is devoted to Konami. I don't know where the series goes from here, hopefully they can get hte Bundesliga back next year and some licenses but if they don't, I don't really care too much. There's an exchange that goes on when you play a soccer game and we all know that at the core of the game is what it makes you feel, your experience of it and all of the licenses in the world don't make up for screaming 2 inches away from your screen when you finally score in injury time in PES.
