i try to assign a player or 2 as a holdong role i.e a DM who i want just to keep his position in front of the defense but the player strays from his position no matter what setings hes on. Always any1 have any tips on how best to make sure the formation keeps its shape when defending, I use 4-4-2 so want 2 banks of 4 at all times

players do have their own minds. try putting you DMF on HIGH defence attitude in individual settings.

High defense and attacking arrows backwards. You could also try to set him to man mark an attacker aggressively to keep his position back there.
