actually the rule should be revised and only players who have offensive msg's should be punished.

Its not/or no longer illegal to take your shirt off as long as theres no message, the issue was that he upset the fans by celebrating in their direction. But if you think about it, some fans spend most of their time singing foul songs and abusing people esp in england, but blowing a little kiss is setting them off. And im not sure what right a ref has to tell someone where their families should sit or where a directors box should be constructed.

So the new rules is that if you take off your shirt during a goal celebration you get a red card?

no, no1 will get a red card for taking off their shirt. it always used to be a yellow but im pretty sure they stopped giving the yellow this season (or maybe last)

And how exactly are the Everton fans meant to know his family are up there and he's not trying to provoke a reaction?

A similar scenario happened yesterday at our derby game when one of their players celebrated in front of us after they got their 92nd minute winner. Nearly sparked a riot it did :kader:

If he went to his own fans then there shouldn't be a problem, but it was a bit silly going to the away end and celebrating.

i think that now if they take their shirt off its either a boolking or a fine, about the rule...........the referee is an idiot i saw the goal i though that the only thing that he might have done to get somethin would have been takin off his shirt, but doesnt thiery always blows kisses when he scores???

IMO thats BS if they do anything to Henry, anywayz whats wrong with bashing the fans?? They probably were booing him so he got extra cocky when he scored... I don't see whats wrong with that or tacking ur shirt off:rolleyes: :rockman:

If I were an Everton fan I would of just showed the middle finger to him and thats it why start a riot? English fans always make things difficult.
