He would be a good addition to any squad. Striker will learn from this guy. Larsson is top notch. He shouldn't have stayed in Celtic for so long. I guess he really liked the club.

I prefer Larsson over Saviola anytime. You can't compare their finishing/striking skills. Look like Larsson is underrated.

his family were very settled in glasgow, he was playing in front of 60,000 fans every home game. he was playing in europe everyear and he loved the team spirit at the club. like has always said, larsson has nothing to prove to anyone so there was no reason to leave celtic.

Larsson relishing Barça adventure
Wednesday, 30 June 2004
Sweden forward Henrik Larsson has passed a medical and completed his move to Spanish giants FC Barcelona.

One-year contract
The 32-year-old has signed a one-year contract with an option to extend the deal for another season. He left Scottish champions Celtic FC after completing his contract at the end of last season.

'We can achieve anything'
"I'm very happy to be here," Larsson told the Catalan club's official website. "Barcelona has always been one of my favourite teams. It's great to be here at last. From now on, we can achieve anything.

Attraction of history
"I like everything about Barça. It's a massive club with a lot of fans," he continued. "It's a great team. Its history also attracts me. I remember when I was a child and I used to watch the Barça players: I liked [Ronald] Koeman, [Hristo] Stoitchkov, [Michael] Laudrup ... It was fantastic to watch that football.

Title aim
"Whenever you play in a big club like this, you want to win titles," he added. "I hope we can, though I'm aware it's difficult. But that's what happens when you play in a big club like Barça."

EURO 2004™ goals
Larsson was persuaded to come out of international retirement to play for Sweden at UEFA EURO 2004™ and scored three goals as he helped the Scandinavians into the quarter-finals, where they lost to the Netherlands on penalties. He has scored 28 goals in 78 international appearances and won the ESM Golden Shoe award as top scorer in European club football for his 35 goals for Celtic in 2000/01.

Third arrival
Larsson is the third player to join Barcelona since the end of last season. The Catalans have signed Brazil international defender Juliano Belletti from Villarreal CF for an estimated €3.7m and French midfield player Ludovic Giuly from Monaco for a reported €6.7m. Frank Rijkaard's side will start next season's UEFA Champions League campaign in the group stage.

I would guess maybe have Saviola and Larsson pair up in front with Ronaldinho right behind them.

All the Barca supporters are saying that Saviola will not be starting.

Especially if they get Deco.

Deco, Giuly, and Larsson would all start meaning that Saviola will probably get sold or benched. :kader:

Barça play with one striker, Larsson or Saviola and maybe we get another one. The best will play, it's nothing new.

Larsson will play. He's waaaaaaaay better than little Saviola.

Nice to see the deal completed. Very good move for both Barça and Larsson.
