Sol,

Can you describe the problem in more detail for example.

1. Is this a first time install?
2. Were you installing a patch or some other addon to Fifa when this started?
3. Have you edited the soccer.ini or the Ini.Big files?

This and any other information would be helpful for those here that can help you get Fifa back working.

Cheers,

Doug ;)

1. Ive Installed the game numerous times and it still doesnt work.
2. No
3. No

I just looked at DXdiag
and it says "Warning: It Appears that the installed version of DirectX (4.08.01.0810) is newer than this version of dxdiag (4.07.00.0700). Some information may be inaccurate. You should use a new version of dxdiag."

and i checked "DX Media Files" and in the bottom it says
"The file qcut.dll is missing!
The file iac25_32.ax is a beta version, which is unsupported and could cause problems."

You think this might be the problem?

Things to check

Sol,

I have directx ver 8.0 and it runs no problem.

>>>I just looked at DXdiag
>>>and it says "Warning: It Appears that the installed version of DirectX (4.08.01.0810) is >>>newer than this version of dxdiag (4.07.00.0700). Some information may be inaccurate. >>>You should use a new version of dxdiag."

The Dxdiag file appears to be from directx ver 7.0 so there would be some errors reported there. Go to microsoft's site and download ver 8.0 or 8.1 and reinstall directx., Do not try to remove the version of direct x you have now just reinstall it again. You should also check, you might have done so already, your video driver files for updates.

My system is old by todays standard but fifa 2002 runs ok. I have a PIII 450 Win98 256MB-Ram TnT Riva 16Mg.

One simple thing that caused my game not to start was the CD_ROM drive letter was not reported correctly in the registry, as I have two Cd-Roms, so had to edit the registry to rectify that.

So:

1. Check your temp files folder.....Windows\Temp and delete all files in there.
2. Reboot
3. Check and reinstall Directx 8.0 or 8.1
4. Check Video card drivers
5. Check Drive letter assign for CD-rom
6. Reboot >> install game. FULL INSTALL
7. Go to Fifa Folder C:\FIFA 2002\3DSetup ( or where ever you installed the game to)
and run the program 3DSetup.exe and check that it detects your video card.
After all of that then click on your Fifa Desktop Icon to start.. Hope it works..

Cheers,

Doug.

Yeah I downloaded DirectX9.0
but it still wont work
i looked at FIFA 2002 Ez Application
and it said
"This program has detected that you are running an NT based operating system. Due to the nature of NT kernel, some information may be incomplete."

then i looked at requirements and it said i had a CPU speed of
-1924 Mhz
when im suppose to have a CPU speed of 200 Mhz
How do i change that?
Oh and I have Windows XP

This type problem is associated with Computers that run at 2Ghz or higher maybe some sort of timing sync problem and EA is a dead loss when it comes to support as they spend their time counting $$ not trying to help gamers. However there are a few things left that you can try to work around this which has worked for some people.

1. When your PC starts hit "delete" to go to set up.( blue screen )
In the bios go to cpu settings and change the cpu speed from 133/133 to 100/133...save and exit. The cpu speed will be reduced to 1.9GHz and the game should load up.
You can always change it back to the original setting ( 133/133 ) anytime by rebooting and hitting delete to get back into the bios to restore your original settings. Do not forget to save before exiting the bios. You can check EZ tool too confirm that the change has taken effect.

2. Does your CD drive seemed to be doing a lot of blinking right before it crashes?
Then go to www.gamecopyworld.com and download a no-cd patch there
Look for the game index at the site and click on "F" . That will enable you to run your game without reference to the CD.

Good luck:rockman:
